Flexibility & movement, hard wearing & breathability (leg vents a must). Colour not a big issue as long as it is not unpleasant.

Tried on quite a few pairs over the years ( I only wear type a) & the top runners for me at the moment are SIPS then Pfanner. They fulfil my criteria & fit me well.

Great to read you Les!

Being able to move in them on a warm day is the most important thing for me.  I’ve been wearing gladiators for close to 8 years now, longest I’ve ever had out of a pair.  The fly just went on them last week.  That will get fixed with some tie wraps.  Now I’ve bought a cherry picker I can see me getting a few more years out them as it’s always the wrestling through undergrowth that’s wrecked my trousers.

Could have written that myself Pete.

Just got Pfanner Gladiator vents after spending far too many days this summer in SIP non protective 'stealth' chainsaw keks after my C's were just too hot.

Colour is important, grey hides the filth better than most!

How many pairs did you try on for comfortable fit before buying ?

You won’t go far wrong with Arbortec Trousers, the type A’s are fab and everything you are looking for and the new pro range are even better.
