Evening all. just been sent this link https://blog.fantasticgardeners.co.uk/how-much-do-tree-surgeons-charge-in-uk-on-average/#comments

Let me know your thoughts....

Its nowt but an advertisement for Fantastic tree's.....  as adverts go its nothin out the ordinary I suppose..

As a potential customer I'd still be left in the dark as to how much I might be expected to pay out for a bit of tree work in my garden..

I don't know why companies can't at least have a guide of sorts, typically with a two man team working all day you might be expected to pay A B or C.....

Yes, and it didn't mention piss.

No but I’m saying it is... any fool can fell a tree any one doing it properly with a decent crew can get a big tree down quicker than reducing it.. the only reason it’s more expensive is because of the logistics of removing the arisings and maybe the number of staff involved... it’s not an easier task for the tree surgeon to do properly.

I agree with most of that .  The bit I don't agree with is the " any fool " bit .

Just had a little gander ......  Is this your company ?

One of the projects stated  that  a  tree surgeon was certified to climb to 56FT ....... ?

Never heard of this height specific malarkey before ?

Our insurance was worded along  the lines of any tree in the uk ....  height unlimited .

Although  I think our insurers  messed up when there said we could clear ivy from any building up to the gutter level ....?   Really ......

haha no nothing to do with me . I gave a quote to a potential customer who said I was too expensive and sent me this link. just made me smile so I thought I would share it.

Cos everything on the internet is always correct and accurate!

Websites like that just cause problems for everyone else, but do help to weed out some of the more 'problematic' customers.

Yep [emoji38] especially with spikes [emoji6]b17057a9-db9c-4afc-a1c0-c64f3cbe337f.thumb.jpg.20d0b183abe63da8e93586a034685a82.jpg

A few examples.

Half a day in gale force winds dismantling this on Friday half of it rigged then a sat morning drive out picking up the timber.

After pic of a reduced Copper Beech almost identical size next door over half a day to reduce by 2 metres was a horrible work out... although probably more overall satisfying

Thing that annoyed me with that article is it is more more skill full job to prune a tree properly and should not be devalued as such.. this country’s tree stock overall does not need any more shite pruning , the photo in the article does it no favours at all.
