In my mid 20s I could do 17 - yes, honest! - wide grip overhand pull ups.  I couldn't come within a country mile of a one armed.

I had a bit of bad luck when I got into a fist fight with a mountain (you shoulda seen the other guy!) followed immediately afterwards by some unbelievably good luck when I didn't die, then a bit more bad luck when one of my surgical screws got infected. Can't complain though, because I'm around to complain about it, which is better than the alternative.

I used to be able to do them, ( winter in france rock climbing loads) but with full PPE and a saw and ropes hanging off me, not a chance!

Well, now three weeks after the fact, we've got a fairly good idea of all of my aches and pains... a broken radius on the left, a slightly-torn bicep on the right, a few sprained fingers on both hands, cartilage damage on the left of my ribcage, coccyx got bumped around a bit, broken nose, superficial grazing on my face and a ruptured blood vessel in the right eye,  some ligament damage in the left knee and a slightly-torn quad muscle, and an "invisible fracture" on my right ankle. Other than that,  I'm as fit as a fiddle. 

I actually wrote a full account of the day,  I've been told it makes quite entertaining reading. It's 3000 words worth,  I could shove it down in a new thread if people fancy a little mid-morning misery porn.
