But a fat one....

I did momentarily wonder if the girth was due to being splayed out like a dum dum round by a Matelot-esque jizz explosion. Negligent discharge, anyone?

Lovely Oak Pollards in Ashford!

Can I be outraged at the incorrect use of the term 'pollard'?

Or would that just be me being a pedant?

What species? I’m guessing ash.

Maidens, never been trimmed, they’ll be fine, if you have to reduce to a certain spec ie. Height/width then I don't see that as too bad.

Ash have little inner growth points so sometimes you have to go for shape and wait for spring!

(one closest to camera better than the middle one though!)

There's a back story here Nick.

Those trees are due to be felled when the road is expanded to dual carriageway.

They were dismembered and the stems left, presumably for a hiab wagon to come in and take the heavy later.

Then a classic row blew up between ABC and the developer (who is building thousands of new houses at Chilmington Green just down the road) about who exactly is paying for the road expansion, and progress has ground to a halt.

You would think that this might have been discussed at the planning stage.

If Ashford Borough Council fell into a bucket of tits they would come out sucking their thumb.

Are they available for Brexit duty?
