I'm not keen on their take on a rope wrench but I can see the denaficial differences of the zz unit with the top atachment changes. Problem with the current as on set is that it side loads the bar between the bottom atachment eye and the swivel ball. I see no reason why this couldn't be used with the rope wrench instead of the petzl thingy

Well Petzl don’t make the Ropewrench, so if you did that you would definitely fall to your death immediately.

seems to me if they used thicker plate and stronger pins the zigzag links would be up to the job without needing additional friction, although the device may then be prohibitively heavy to lift

Interesting... I wonder how well it performs, was never a big fan of the ZZ on the wrench, found it too sticky .

I dont think this is the finished article,looks too fragile.

Whats more important is why waste time and money on manufacturing a competitor for the wrench when you could design a srt device to compete with the hh,unicender etc.

By the time they get it perfected and onto the market it ll be outdated!

There is no reason Petzl could not add a headstock and tailstock to the ZZ, as I have made an improvement to the headstock on this very compact Lynx in the video which works SRT with the Tendril rope pictured.
