Stihl v Husqvarna

Debate over. I just got an orange lozenge from Stihl when I ordered a Shizll from Gustharts.
Never had a sweetie from Husqvarna

I remember the Stihl/Husky ‘debates’ on here with hilarity.

 

One member was so upset about something he was going to sell all his Stihls (or Huskys I can’t remember which) as a protest at some issue or other.

Modern saws are so much better than 25 years ago, more reliable, better starting, better cutting right through the rev range.

Agreed.  personally i think Stihl are going from strength to strength.  haven't used the latest husky's enough to comment.

I am mostly husky these days apart from 3x201s

 

I will get that 500 Stihl electronic jobby when I see them on the shelves though.

Having visited stihl hq earlier this month I was impressed by how much innovation goes into their new products that largely goes unnoticed. 

 

Stuff as boring as working with NGK to bring out a spark plug designed to be used in stihl chainsaws. Little things like a unthreaded cap on the top as the threaded caps are unnecessary and can come loose and strip (funnily I just diagnosed a non starting 261 with this last week), and a smaller air gap surrounding the electrode for slightly increased compression.

 

I do like the husky 60cc offering, but for top handles and larger saws ill always go for stihl.
