It was called a saw mit. A open glove that was laced loosely onto the side handle. The idea was that under kickback your hand couldnt have been shoved off the saw.

One of the last jobs I did before moving to France 2005, Woking in Surrey.

 

Caught a monumental cold on this oak, 14’’ drain from a nearby block of flats shattered in the garden, turds and tampons spilling over the lawn.

5k insurance job.

 

Still, got a pic with an 088 so worth it!

yeah an old mazda and the spanner for the spout bolts. i got a 5k bank loan to buy the chipper (id already saved 3k) and the mazda cost me 3200. they were certainly simpler times. 

 

the pop got felled eventually, not by me fortunately the access was terrible
