So, it begins.

Personally I’m looking forward to it. Don’t give a monkey’s toss about the manufactured outrage of the lbgt/etc. community. Their country, their rules.

Wouldn’t set foot there myself purely cos it looks like a dump.

Nevertheless, should be a good tournament, run us up to Christmas nicely.

England in with a good shout, should come out of the group easy enough.

I’m looking forward to the endless barrage of ‘it’s coming home’ and England flags flown from every house and car, followed by silence, and endless flags blowing around at the side of the a14 in a few weeks time

IWell at least it's better than watching strictly come dancing.

This probably isn't my first World Cup memory but I always remember Gary lineker missing an open goal as the ball shot across him. I did try to look for the video but I couldn't find it which probably means it was some euro qualifier or something.

What I'm going to do now that beer is banned while watching the game I don't know!

Comfortable enough win for England, though defence seems shaky.

Rooting for the US now.

Imagine if the USA actually won the tournament, they would officially be ( in their own eyes at least) the best in the world at absolutely everything.
