This spring they opened a MacDonalds in a nearby town.

Some afternoons during the hot French summer, when passing, I stop in to enjoy some cool air conditioning, eating a vanilla Macflurry, with raspberry topping.

I talk to no one, no one talks to me.

Absolute bliss.

that right there is one of lifes little pleasures all on its own

That’s right, especially with the new touch screen ordering system.

All I get is some youngster coming up with my MacFlurry ‘bon appétit’ and off they go.

Always appreciate my Rayburn for the constant background heat it gives out and means the house is not chilly first thing....plus it keeps my coffee pot and cup warm. I also like the ritual of upkeep of this 50 plus yr old simple bit of tech.

The daily ritual of a 5 year old girl who has learned to unlock the front door to let me in before jumping into my arms to the cry of PAPA! with sweet hugs and kisses whilst her 3 year old brother clings to my legs and dances on my boots.

The excited shout of "daddy!" by my little girl when I get home, followed by a big hug.

Very similar to mick.

Yesterday, walking the dog in the daylight, instead of at 6am.

Followed by an easy admin/quoting day where I catch up with everything and get rid of the nagging feeling of still having lots of work stuff to do.

We also flipped the chipper blades this week, bliss! (Or is that really sad!)
