Cabstars have always been good trucks, didn’t know about the limited slip diff now.

With the right tyres on that sounds promising.

I’ve always thought they were a bit too small, front and back, but they certainly handle weight well.

Parts availability used to be a massive let down with them. Is that sorted now?

My Transit is an old dog, but it’s been pretty reliable, only major issue was swapping out the crappy DMF flywheel when it shat itself, and 2 alternators.

Nearing 100k.

Can’t comment on towing, it’s lived it’s life with sub 750 TW’s.

Avoid the scissor ram tippers, they’re crap.

As to towing 4-5t of timber I’m sure you can make up your own minds on that one.

Towing 4-5 tonne of timber that's with 10 ft ifor  tipper 1 1/2-2 tonne on pick up 2 1/2-3 tonne on trailer and it don't struggle , don't look over loaded straight up to 60mph o mway and there's lads on this site I take timber from will vouch for what I take away from there jobs, if I new how to upload pics I would put em on but I don't.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is the turning circle on the japanese trucks compared to the transit.  It does make life a lot easier!  Personally im not a fan of transits but they do the job....except for the 15 plate i drove recently that had a clutch made of butter and couldnt reverse a chipper up a 10 degree incline

Can’t knock a transit , all I’ve used in Tree work , my 05 has clocked nearly 180k only thing it’s cost me is a solid dmf last year and some replacement pulleys and belts brakes and oil changes , it’s solid underneath ... been one of the most economic vehicles I’ve ever ran in terms of repairs and has made me money ,can’t bring myself to replace her and probably won’t until the engine goes.
