Another 2 stroke oil thread

Morning

Sorry folks, I know this or similar topics have been covered time and time again but I haven’t found an exact answer...

I run 100% Stihl kit on their HP super oil but a mate and I have just made a shocking purchase of a second hand 560xpg and t540 [emoji33]. But for what I’ve read and been told the Husky’s should to be run on the fully synthetic XP oil. So, do I get two types of oil and two fuel cans one for Stihl and one for Husky or would the Stihl HP ultra suit both saws or Husky XP oil for both?

In the perfect world it would be best to use 2 cans, but that isn’t really practical. The current version of XP was produced specifically for the new 500 series engines and is the best oil to use for those saws. Keeping temperatures down is key to long life.

Now I’m sure it will be a similar story with stihls engines and there top spec oil. I don’t know the make up of there oil but I would assume it to be of very good quality for there engines also. So in short pick one and ensure you use good quality fuel and an accurate mix, don’t be tempted to add that bit extra oil for luck etc. If it was me I would be using the XP as I know that engine needs the best oil.

all my 2T kit runs on Red line Racing oil,  i mix it up at with regular pump petrol at about 40:1.

I reckon it's very expensive oil and prolly works out at £24 per litre just for the oil alone but i'm hoping it's as good as they say it is.

JASO FD says it should be fine.

However, I wouldn't be one for chopping and changing oils without good reason.

And I wouldn't see saving somewhere in the low teens of pence per litre as good enough reason.

But no doubt there'll be somebody who buys the cheapest two stroke available when they need it and will never have had a problem!

You pays your money...............etc.
