So your prussic is for lanyard only? I rarely use a prussic but would only use double on a lanyard. HOWEVER it will depend what prussic cord and rope you're using. VT (with eye and eye) and basic pulley is so much better than prussic. Probs £25.

yeah well I will prussik ascend but it's hard work. The ZZ is easier. I just use the lanyards when I have to to get up there but when up there is I'm walking on a limb I don't like I'll lanyard somewhere higher.

I dont get why people are suggesting that you'd take a hit money wise getting another climber in.

Even if they charged £200 for two easy days including time spent with you in the tree training you, there'd still be far more profit left on the job than your multiple repeat visits plus trips to arb suppliers buying lots of kit you likely don't need.

If you sincerely wanted to learn this would have been your best bet, but you seem adamant to do it yourself (fair enough) but obviously don't believe you have anything you learn from others.

The guy re rescheduled 1 week before start when it was booked for 2 months. I make a point of never relying on anyone. Especially unreliable people.

And you don't listen at all. I will do/ want to, learn from others. But I also like to get some basics in first on my own.

I remember James Hoddy shadowing Reg on a crane job. Absolutely invaluable in terms of experience and honing skills.

I know we're all doing this based off photos and none of us have seen the trees but I'm almost certain there is nothing that would trouble a decent climber in for a day. I know for a fact that there are at least 5 or 6 lads who've commented on this thread already who would smash those out for less than £200.

Just my opinion though

Wasn't it Adam Bourne he got in?

If I knew one, other than the guy who let me down then I'd have him in a shot. But i don't want to watch and get paid, I want to get up there and learn.

Give me a guy who can handle no BS straight talk, ,good or bad, and will take the time to teach me and I'd love to make his acquaintance. I'm not an asshole, though some would suggest. I just do not mince my words. That's it.
