What's the longest you've spent throwing a throw bag?

Recently it’s not getting the throwbag over a branch that’s been the problem, it’s getting it back down again...


Pull the line taught then twang it like a bow string.
The bark of the black locust tree is worst I’ve found.

Yip been there... heavier throwbag helps if its a tree with high friction bark or heavily fissured.

Sometimes it just gets stuck though..

What can you do..

Have done, made a hook and rope holder for an old telescopic wolf pole, been great on some trees, a big lime full of epicormic that had been messed around with before a few months back I wouldn't have wanted to do any other way. Useful for setting tip rigging too sometimes. ?

It's surprising how heavy a bag is needed to get the line moving on rough bark!

Ive used a 3 teir telescopic extention pole(the ones for painting ceilings) with a bent hook to get ropes in limes really thick with epi.

Just another tool in the box...

Very true !
That’s why I won’t go lighter than 14oz.. and double up bags if manipulating a route.
