Stihl MS241 C-M (Mtronic)

Hi guys.

 

Has anyone used a Stihl MS241 C-M?

Im looking at getting one for limbing, thinning, small felling.

Has anyone used one? 

If so can they give me there overall thought on it and any Pros OR Cons.

Hi yes I Have one and apart from a bit of trouble with the m tronic box at the beginning its been fantastic and I can't fault it at all, I cut firewood with it (about 120-150 tonne per year, and when we go felling its the first saw I pick up and I have felled some fair old larch trees with it like 30" + , I run it on a 14" bar and find that the best combination for the saw , I bought the saw for a job we got felling 2400tonne of infected larch on a steep banking and I wanted a light pro saw with a decent power to weight ratio and this is the one, other lads pick it and use it and they allsay the same, f--k me that's a ballsy little  saw, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another hope this helps you out

I can't claim anything like that sort of experience but I've run one for 4 or 5 years now, also on a 14" bar.  In the early days the engine used to die when you took your finger off the trigger after running it hard but not now; I guess the chip sorted itself out.  Really good saw; never any problems and performs very well.  Considering the cost of it I'd say it's extremely good value.

I've used one a lot. But I would not really suggest one unless you are in a tree much of the time. The 261cm in it's latest form isn't much heavier, and has much more power.

The 241 is the finest small saw in it's class ever made imo. I rum mine with a 16" bar mostly but i have a 15" for it as well. I changed the drive sprocket from a spur seven pin to a rim eight pin and it's made it even better. I modded the muffler myself and am planning to get it lightly ported next Year. I'd buy another one in a hearbeat. It's the 562xpw for me next though.

241 is a great little saw with plenty of grunt on a 14" bar.

Id recommend it no worries

Doesnt miss a beat in my experience

I've got one of those and use it lovingly so as not to wear it out (OK, it's me I'm protecting)!  It is fantastically lightweight.

I know two people who use them mainly for hedging and topping fence posts. I came really close to buying one myself; and frequently wonder why I did not. Light, pretty frugal on juice and easy to handle. Seems to have plenty of grunt for its size.

I used one for a few tanks and it really impressed me ,instead of a pencil sharpener I was expecting it was pretty gutsy and quick in the cut for a small saw.
