More like 12 mm, plenty strong enough, crank doesn’t matter as you cut most of it off to match the other.

Does this work well? I've just noticed a broken hay rake in the farms scrap skip...

Yeah its bob on, but the tines are only a few quid each anyway.

New tines are not expensive

Apparently not, but the tines on this scrap one look like new...

I'll whizz over it with the nut gun but if it puts up a fight I'll just buy new ones when I've got the need for a digger rake.

I'm not the type who spends an hour to salvage 2 quids worth of stuff!

@jwl28

as it goes I now run a Klou grab 99% of the time, I find it better, not at everything, but overall a better tool.

Thanks Mick! I am currently deep in my mini loader research phase and your contributions (and everyone’s) are very helpful 👍👍 There are so many out there I seem to discover new brands/models every day. The MO 4.2 is ranking highest at the mo, still a small size/width/weight but with more grunt than the avant 420…

No, it’s not. It has 3 locked positions, but these two mostly, and can be used ‘free’

Can it freely rotate infinitely (some clever hose junction inside the grab mount) or can you only rotate a certain amount before you wind the hoses up?
The heel (if that’s what it’s called?) looks excellent on the Klou. It looks like you can grab stuff in the pincer only and drag and snake freely but grab it a bit further along so it’s jammed against the heel and hold it pretty rigidly (longitudinally) without having to get off the machine and put the pin in.
