Whats your multione loader doing today ?

So far between MultiOne 6.3 or Avant 630, as the flow rate is perfect for existing attachments and the lifts are adequate for what I will be using it for. Which should I buy, and why? I keep hearing the following:

Apart from Mick’s French “issues”, you simply will not find better support than MO UK. 
 

I’m 5 years or so in with my original MO. Only ever had really minor issues and even then quickly diagnosed and solutions identified by Steve on a video call. 
 

It simply doesn’t get any better than that!

 

Plastic panels might be an issue for hire fleet or careless users. Owner operators treat their gear very differently - mishaps will happen, I caught a tow hitch and cracked a panel. No biggy. 
 

Lift stats - again, as an owner operator, don’t mistreat your kit. Estimate your likely lift ‘need’ and over spec so that you’re never pushing the limits. 
 

I looked long and hard at many options and MO was the best choice for my needs. Seriously, no regrets in hindsight!

The only personal experience I have of these machines is an Avant 640 that I hire off a mate from time to time.

Don’t worry about them apparently not lifting what they claim - that thing is extremely capable, and will pick up anything we’ve pointed it at... 

Great bits of kit tbh, I’m seriously considering dipping a toe in.

(As an aside, the Bobcat dealer who supplied my digger is also an Avant dealer and he reckons they are very reliable and well built - they have many more issues with Bobcats than the Avants apparently).

They do tele booms, probably the only company that do the biggest range of machines on the market today from a Skid loader you stand on to the largest Telehandlers.

So now I'm thinking that I might as well jump up to 8.4 size and be 'future proof'. It's no wider than the 6.3, and only a foot longer so shouldn't limit me too much on access. Thoughts?

Only one mini tele boom model and the flow rate etc isn't like the multi one.  It's a little smaller than I'm wanting.

I need to make a decision on what loader to buy. Do I go 6.3+k or 8.4+k? The 6.3+k looks to have very generous aux flow in a compact size, but I'm worried that even with back weights it wouldn't be the boss of a ton bag, which is the most I'd need it to lift and not often, but I'd want to know it would.

 

Do you find the extra foot of length on the 8.4 plus not being able to slim down to 1.1m limits you at all?

I am after some advice around Multione implements for a woodland. I have bought a 5.2 recently to use to move stuff around, do some landscaping and maintain the track to our property. We have a couple of acres of woods and I am keen to get something to stop me having to drag timber and brash around. Really looking for something that will lift chunks of tree, but also shift piles of branches etc.

 

I have the pallet forks so one option is the hydraulic claw for those, the limitation with that seems to be that it will only close down to 40 cm, so I am not sure how easy it is to lift a trunk? The other seems to be the log grab, which would be more but potentially looks more useful. Given my usage I think the timber grab is out as it is too much money. Is there anything else that I should look at? I have a bucket, ripper claw, pallet forks and will get the leveller.

 

It has been a great tool so far, my only regret is not getting one far sooner as it has totally changed our ability to get stuff done. Have learnt a massive amount from this thread so far.

Get a silage/muck grab. Will usually handle big logs if you are gentle and brilliant for brash.

Muck grab will do most of what you want, better for moving small pieces of wood as you can grip them with grab. 

God for leveling ground use it like a rake.

Trouble with muck grabs is that if the tines aren’t  hardened you can bend the buggers easy as pie.
