Lucky escape there with quick thinking in reverse!
What's the camera setup you have there with the speed recording? Looks like it would stand up perfectly as evidence were you (please no) be in an actual accident.
I'm whole heartedly in favour of weight and licensing regulations applying to agricultural vehicles. Where else could you get an inexperienced student driving all up weights around 18 tonnes on a standard car licence, or even a provisional. And I was one of those students 30 years ago but the potential train weights were so much less then. The fordsons and masseys could only just get it rolling, much less stop it again .

It is too many not getting home.
I looked those stats up just now and the first few of those years it was fairly steady then dropped off massively which is obviously good. Does make me wonder why? What changed?

This is a decent page Richard:

Look at the stats for rural roads!

Not the cheapest available but money well spent in my book - it could easily save many times that in year on year insurance premium increases if it proves no fault in a collision.

And, for a work vehicle it’s 100% deductible for Tax purposes as IT equipment.

Just the flip side so youngens don't get it in the neck too much. I had the same thing happen to me 5 years ago but the tractor actually drove up the front of my van. That was an experience! The driver was in his 70s. If I had gotten out and gave him a mouthful I expect I'd have been called a young thug who has no respect [emoji23]. At what age should you be deemed too old to drive because your reactions and eyesight are poor? Apparently he "didn't see me". I was in a Citroen dispatch van, if that was a low car I'd be dead, if I was riding a horse I'd be dead, if I had all my family out for a stroll we'd all be dead. It's not "young drivers" it's poor drivers and 9/10 when I've had near misses and people pull out on me or they're in the wrong lane or don't indicate it's a old person

One of our vehicles had a bump on Monday. Sat at lights and the vehicle in front rolled back three metres and hit it.

The (woman) drive immediately jumped out and accused our lad of hitting her! She continued to do so even after the camera was pointed out and called the police. Her husband turned up and it was all getting a bit tense.

Its a relief having the footage, no matter how many 'witnesses' she conjures up after the fact, to support her claims of whiplash for her & her passenger the video tells the truth.

Better road design. Cars with more safety features. Better emergency healthcare.

Regarding cameras.

I got a Nissan Navara to drive at work. When I got it there was a fair few scrapes on it so I took some pics of the damage. Someone had his car pranged in the work car park and the CCTV showed it was a Navara that had done it. One Monday I went into work and I was told "we placed your Navara against the damaged car and all the scrapes are at the same level. It was you that damaged the car and drove off. I hope you admit it before the police are called".

Luckily the pics I had showed there was no fresh damage and it hadn't been me. If I hadn't taken the photos I would have been in a sticky situation. I honestly think anyone spending a lot of time should have a camera recording everything.
