I'm pretty heavily tattooed and the only questions I've ever had about my tattoos I've turned into jokes, I imagine it's the same type of client that will nose through their blinds at tattooed tree workers as they would non-white tree workers, and our aging fascist community is a dying breed; literally.

However; tattooed, black, brown, white, straight, gay or ginger I do think we should make an effort, as i'm sure most firms do, to present ourselves smartly and not keep wearing that polo-shirt that got attacked by a silky last summer.

I’m tattoo’d white and ginger (prefer strawberry blonde), what’s your problem! xD

I'd say smoking is a bigger stigma now than tattoos.  No one seem surprised by tattoos anymore, yet some of our clients never encounter smokers (until they meet us!) None of my guys have tattoos above kneckline or on their hands.

I agree.  I don't allow smoking on our sites.

You agree with what?, most clients don't encounter smokers, they must lead a very sheltered life.

I smoke but not a lot until I've had a beer.

The idea that I couldn't have a ciggie during brew/lunch time wouldn't appeal to me much.

Each to their own mind.

It would seem its not his problem ! :D Seriously people do judge on first looks . Cant help it , tis a human trait . That judgement will  be varied  according to  generation I think . I know of 2 people in my village that are tattooed to a similar degree . One is a a top banana geezer ( local game keeper ) . The other is a total scum bag . He has done time for attempted murder ( the only reason he is still walking about now is that they got   the poor blokes heart going again  in the ambulance ). These two blokes look similar but are poles apart in the humanity stakes .

I don't all allow smoking on site either. Things once got heated with a British subby climber who sat it the crown of an oak and 'skinned up'.
