Transport a tow behind chipper on tipper trailer

Hi all I was just wondering if any has or if its legal to haul around a tow behind chipper on a tipping trailer ? Using a pick up to do this then taking the chipper off on jobs and chipping into the trailer. Obviously a tracked chipper would be better but its a bit out of budget at the moment.

lets take our hearts for a walk in the woods and listen to the magic whispers of old trees

I use the same method with my chipper, though its only a small 18HP affair..

I think, you'll soon tire of using this method though as its a pain in the arse.. havin to worry about the chipper not falling off while loading, worryings its going to come loose and fall off in transport, then the time spent unloading at work site.. soon wears you down..

Best option is a bigger truck if possible..

As said nothing wrong with doing that by law, we sometimes need to recover poorly chippers on our flat bed trailer.

If you are going to do this i'd definitely invest in some car wheel straps. Makes for easy and safe strapping down. You will also need to support the draw bar with a block of wood underneath, you can't strap down with just a jockey wheel holding the front end up..
