Which sentence?

I was amused by your observation, I'm pretty sure Kevin is a contractor, not consultant.

Kevin Reps Empire Tree Services in Cornwall. He does Tree reports etc. Very well written ones too. If I had a tree to survey in the South West, I'd get him in.

If I was a gambling man, which I'm not, I'd struggle to find a reason that you weren't Matelot. Sailor, Military background, You specialise in Logistics, Matelot 'works' in road construction. You have an Arb consultancy business, Matelot knows way more than would be considered normal for a road builder in terms of forestry management. There's a telling correlation between the times of his postings and those of yourself. Good job I'm not a gambling man. :thumbup1:

Just re read this. Sorry for any perceived offence.

I wouldn't want to be mistaken for someone who thinks that way either.

One thing to bear in mind is if there is a lot of brash and stumps around still, when it comes to maintaining weed/grass growth to stop competition, it will be a bugger. In the perfect world you could get a mulcher in to clear the site, but that will be expensive. Could you get a digger in to pile up the brash then burn it? It will make establishment a lot easier if you are able to mow/strim around the young trees.

It's best you didn't have a punt, you'd be crying in yr beer over lost stakes money!

Matelot has (slightly) more tolerance of multiculturalism, immigration and progressive "lefty" policies than me 😂

Howay Dave. People should be allowed to defend themselves no? Also, your sentence makes no sense.

I didn't mean it to be an "attack" Mark, it was just an attempt at humour!!

An innocent bit of fun.

Where does one stop and the other start Huck? That's a whole 'nuther thread (which I think has been done before without any conclusive outcome?)

We boys in Cornwall can read and write AND wield a chainsaw! Well, some can, some of the drivel & pish I see on the planning portal makes me wonder why I bother sometimes!

Sorry for de-rail OP, we are reading and thinking about your subject whilst having a bit of a giggle at the same time.

As mentioned, see if you can pickup an old run down farm/house with land & you should have more value.

Although you'll know the local market better.

A nice Hazel & Ash coppice would be good for firewood on rotation once it's established too.

Sounds like a decent plan you've got 👍

Watch out for the "manuche".

They were really bad round our way. Even my manuche mates tell me to be careful.

Going away for a week?

Bury it.

I won a groundscare contract for a year looking after a local gypsy site. Pretty tidy well managed place it is. However, they wouldn't leave us alone after that. Trying to sell us trucks or saws, Would call us up to try and get us to clear their brash.

Piles of branches, wire from fences, stone and plastic.

Everytime we said no they got quite pissed with us.

Once I was called a racist by them and you know, I think I might be where they are concerned.
