Dave, you should get thios blown out of the water- speak to whatever insurance companies you deal with etc, or even go to trading standards. That is totally irresponsible and possibly not legal what that ins company has done.

No doubt the teacher would want the firewood (since all teachers I have ever worked for have been tight gits who spend out on nothing and hoard what they can:confused1:)

I'm not interested in trying to compete with "fire wood hunters" and am not bothered in the least about them.

 

But insurers should NOT, IMO, advocate the use of such people to deal with hazardous trees.

 

The customer wants an experienced professional and was disgusted that they were suggesting he go for a cheaper option.

In all seriousness your customer should contact the insurance agents not the broker, and tell the actual insurers what has been said! Also i think that the both of you should put it all in writing to the insurance ombudsman! It stinks it really does:sneaky2:

Totally agree Dave, but it seems insurance firms have one law to them and one for us............there all total tw@ts IMO.

Cant believe an insurance company would advocate such unprofessional, immoral practices.

There is something fundamentally wrong here - the insurance company are playng devils advocate.

I would get all the details together and put a case against them to trading standards, financial services authority and any other bodies that govern insurance companies. They should be bought to task over this just on the very principal of it.

 

Understand what you're saying about not being worried about firewood hunters, but giving a customer 'professional' advice to use a teacher to clear a hazardous tree!! OMG! WTFH!!
