Any new small charcoal retorts out there?

There wont be anything on their site yet. We are just finalising the design for production. What I am able to make with my very limited metal working  skills and what their workshop can do are very different things and some improvements can be made which were not options for me. Give it a few months and hopefully we can show the final version.

I'm glad you took the plunge and hope things go well. I'd never heard of them till @agg221 mentioned them.

Had a great day with Geoff and Robin of Exeter Charcoal today for the first test run of the new version of the retort. It's now far more solid and airtight than my prototype and did its first burn without a hitch.

 

Its all looking good for production to start soon and expect to be out with it at some shows next year 😀
