I expect they are probably trained, and hopefully vetted? What about the community speed watch plebs, whats the criteria there?

Half day training course and you are a fully qualified pleb.

I know about this because we had the proper speeding van operator at a parish council meeting a few months ago trying to convince people of the village it was a good idea........ Not one person volunteered.:001_smile:

They're a nightmare when you've had a few jars.

I saw some the other night and thought they were real cops.

I braked so hard I dropped my joint.

I was told they are trained, many are retired copper, apparently.

The camera van blokes are often ex plod on a pension and are trained.

The community speed watch are volunteers, pissed on power, they get a mornings tuition.

I'm often tempted to pull over to that bunch of hi vis clad do-gooders and say "if I weren't completely bladdered I'd have an argument with you but I gotta go cos I'm bursting for a leak"

That should wind things up a bit.

The " parish council " volunteers don't have any powers ( I think ) but " Sussex Safer Roads " are not plod but have the camera vans on the bridges over the A27/M27 . I had to do the speed awareness corse coz of them .

They aren't parish council volunteers, they are people from the parish that volunteer to do the 'job'. Usually people who are retired. I can see an opening here for you mate.:001_tt2:
