You're quite right, it's meant to be "An everyday story of country folk". You'll have to write in and complain Gareth, get it cancelled right off.

They wouldn't listen to me, don't think they even listen to the archers forums.

Richard Dawkins best watch out then! I'm fairly sure that you won't get arrested for just criticising Islam or any religion for that matter.

Don’t hold your breath…. I can’t get the link to upload, but last month a man was arrested in Manchester for burning a Qran in public.  You try to find an example of someone being arrested for burning a Bible…

I wouldn’t defend doing such a stupid and offensive thing, but I thought we had free speech in the UK.  The crime of blasphemy was removed from the statute books in 2008.

Thats a bit more than just criticising though isnt it. Look, i dunno what the context of the story is and I dont know if anyone has been burning bibles lately but yeah, if its an arrestable offence to burn books in public then it should apply across the board no matter what religion or for that matter whatever the context of the book may be.

Any links to people burning bibles lately?

It sounds like a Musk tweet that you can get arrested in the UK for posting on social media!

We have free speech in the UK but there is a limit, as there should be.

When my local council proposed putting huge new gypsy/traveller sites near where I live many locals were concerned.  The local planning department arranged to have a meeting in the village hall for locals to have their say.

The opening statement from the planning officer was that anybody who made negative comments about gypsies or travellers would be reported to the police.

Do you still believe we have free speech?

Yes we have free speech. I can say negative things about gypsies, there has been many a word said about the above in here, has anyone been arrested for it?  Of course they havent.

"anybody who made negative comments about gypsies or travellers would be reported to the police.  " Was anyone reported to the police? Was that verbatim? If so can you back it up.

I can freely say that I dont like islam, i dont like muslims, I dont gypsies, I dont like fat birds, I dont like XXXX etc etc but once I start prompting hate speech and targeting people then that's a different thing altogether.

Any links to bible burning? I would rather see all religion books put on the back burner and if we dont have to see another religious book ever again it would be a God send, pun indented,

I was at the meeting.  No-one made negative comments about gypsies or travellers, so presumably no-one was reported to the police.

I wish I agreed with you, but times have changed.  If I can work out how to post a link I will give some examples!

Fair enough.

Just right click or hard click on the web link it should then give you an option to copy then paste that into a reply.
