  2. That is some strong guff. Are they really that good?
  3. Try again. Mick's been climbing for over 60 years. Did 20 years as a groundy before that. I live with a 6 year old who'd mop the floor with you as far as humility is concerned... Around £3,500 for the basic 4 that most people seem to care about. Mike's idea is a solid one. You get a feel for a few companies, they get to guage your worth. I wouldn't ever volunteer a day for free mind. If you're willing to do that you're setting a terrible precedent.
  4. Monkey Puzzle takedowns are like War stories, never a good 1! Evil trees!
  5. you joeboo owners are used to such poor performance I'm not surprised, when you run a high performance unit like the CS100 the tiniest change seems huge, like a race horse or formula 1 car!
  6. Thanks, really interesting to know how you approach yours

  10. That could be a lovely gaff, if/when I settle in a pile of bricks it will be in Suffolk, or the Staffordshire Moorlands/Peak District
  11. I've used Navara Kingcabs for 18 years. You can add a trailer to carry more and/or make up some greedy boards. Do you have a tripod ladder? If so you can use it to hold down several dumpy bags of arisings; stand on the ladder to press the dumpy bags down and to get the front feet down into the back of the buck against the tailgate and strap the thin end to the ladder rack behind the cab (you need one of those to put mesh onto to protect the rear screen). All sounds a bit niche but it's how I've done small tree and hedge work for all that time (with the trailer bit).
  12. Makita DUC254 (but put 1/4 pitch chain) or Echo 2500T are the lightest. Personally I have the 254, it's great for this type of stuff.

  19. Since acquiring UK distribution rights for the ECHO brand three years ago - and more recently introducing the ECHO Robotics range of commercial robots - FGM Claymore has experienced significant growth in the autonomous turf care sector. To support this continued momentum, the company is pleased to announce the appointment of James Tatters, who brings over 10 years of experience with the ECHO Robotics commercial product line. James’s in-depth technical knowledge and practical field expertise will significantly enhance FGM Claymore’s service capabilities and product support. “James’s expertise will further strengthen our support and service offering as we continue to lead in autonomous turf care,” said Paul Butterly, Managing Director of FGM Claymore. James Tatters will work closely with Sam Daybell, Head of Robotics for the UK and Ireland, as the robotics division continues to grow. This growth is further marked by the launch of Sunseeker Elite, a new domestic robotic line and the latest brand to join the FGM Claymore portfolio. With an expanded team and a broader product range, FGM Claymore is well-positioned to meet increasing market demand in both commercial and domestic robotic turf care.
  20. There are ones that split and ones that don't, if the grains double twisted it does literally just bounce back the axe or maul.
  21. A weird comment from Trump over the weekend, word to the effect of "I didn't order Epstein to be killed". To be fair, neither did I but that isn't a thought that has ever crossed my mind to make a public denial about it. Thinking further about Trumps best pal, odd isn't it that the prison he died in only has a single CCTV camera that didn't quite point at Epsteins cell, no cameras pointing at the perimeter or gates that would show anyone coming or going, say an hour either side of his suicide - one for the MAGA conspiracy theorists there then, why arn't we being shown those video feeds as well (I'd be assuming any 'killer' wouldn't have been a prison staff member there of course). This story keeps going on and on, longer than the 24 hours press interest I thought it would do.
  22. Not a planning expert but I suspect you're fine on the tree btw. Enjoy it. Plant it far enough inside your boundary that your roots and branches don't encroach onto your neighbours' land as it reaches full size.
  23. Morning, wet through the night but blue sky for now. hatches are battened down, long distance Robo job postponed and a day of not very much. but fingers crossed for some windblown tree work as im bored and skint !

    Chickens?

Some more local chicken consultants concur and also add that hindquarter feathering is another giveaway. Fluffy roundarses for girls. Sharper thighs for boys.
  26. This thread feels underused. It could be mega useful. Aware it's harder to post things without specific questions/stimulus but anyone feel free to chime in with any little win/loss they've experienced recently out there at the coalface of customer service. As seemingly insignificant as you like. Someone will learn something. Tell you what, let's talk websites. I'm writing the guff for mine atm. I know what most arb websites look like. What have people had on theirs that have caused them grief? What don't you have on there but keep thinking you should add?
