Does it smell of burnt oil ? Could be getting by the rings or the valve guids ...

When I first wrote to the Forum regarding my smoky V twin 20hp I wanted to add a short video of the engine but lacked the necessary skill to load up a video. However my grown up children came to stay with me for Christmas and for them it's second nature so here's the video. Better late than never it may still provoke a eureka moment from somebody to tell me what was wrong. Still intending to strip down the engine in the New Year. Happy New Year to everyone on the forum. df0d9777-c5a1-4641-afde-9950611a42d1.MP4

Morning, 0 degrees. Got out to do a few hours work helping a mate out yesterday and doing the same today. The village is a sheet of ice after we had a -8 to zero and back to freezing on Boxing Day. Did it again the other night.

We are looking for a climber and people interested in other aspects of countryside maintenance work! If you're just interested in climbing (and have your relevant tickets), do get in touch. But if you're interested in the other aspects too, that would be a bonus. Anyone else who is interested in only the other aspects, get in touch too! We offer a wide range of services across the north York moors (based near Whitby) including tree surgery, tree planting, brushcutting, knapsack spraying. We've got a large planting contract starting soon and its a lot of work! So more than happy to hear from a good number of you. Here's a link to the indeed post for a little more information: Just a moment... UK.INDEED.COM Thanks!

A high lift jack can be handy for shrubs like that but you do need something to grab with a chain or get under with the beak.

It has always confused me that with more automation, computers, robots, faster cars and tractors, all this tech, that we need to retire at 70 and not let the machines take over, retire at 50.

Conifers like that not usually too deep, too late now but next time if you're digging yourself then leave a stem on each stump as a lever. Nowadays I'd grind them, but you have youth on your side - just keep digging and chopping.

A large percentage of the workforce is about to be made redundant. The idea that robots and computers could make life better for everyone was a viable one, until billionaires appeared and decided to hoard everything instead,

That’s stock - factory model (high boy) and yes that’s the year give or take. yea of course in America - seen the exact RAM you’re describing with a framework carrying a sand buggy on the back/roof 🤣
-
I have no clue on how that would work. Im not saying its a bad idea but relying on the state for a hand out and relying on big corps to feed into the pot doesnt fill me with any confidence that it will work. Although it would have to work as consumers with no money to buy stuff are worthless. Its no good Amazon having a fully functioning, streamlined automated AI robotic workforce with no end consumers.
-
What licence !! Maybe in the states but definitely not here. I do like them though. Cummins diesel ram in rhd would be nice but I don’t have a spare £100k plus kicking around
-
It might be a possibility. Once its ran for X amount of hours at X amount of workload it could shut down until its been serviced by an approved dealer. Or it might know who the operator is and how much runtime they have had and shut down due to HAVS or book them on to a refresher course etc. etc. Or if they smack the chain brake on too many times it will give them an electric shock to teach them a lesson!

They weren't jacked up like that ,these were the stock units , 1960s units not later 80s like that .. these were the above engines and both autos, has it got to be a 1980s unit .

Looking for a 2nd hand 4th edition ISA study guide, before I drop £100 on one Cheers

comfortably carry - 1.5/2t and tow up to 8t . V8 5.9L engine and it’s a dream car that I want to customise slightly (lights and paint). Some may say crude, I say cool and a true pick up.

Is it that horrid ,wide, crude looking thing that can only carry 250kgs ? Either a v8 or a straight 4 configuration? If so one of my friends sold one recently ! The is someone also locally that messes around with them local to me but dont think he sells them
