Alder, any market other than biomass?
Alan Smith replied to Johnpl315's topic in Forestry and Woodland management
Alder aka Scotch mahogany as it takes stain very well and can be used to make a passable replacement for mahogany (of some types). I have used it for some cabinet work and quite like it. Easy to work but the wood beetle likes it. - Today

Had it been run on pump fuel prior to this ?

Alder, any market other than biomass?
Stubby replied to Johnpl315's topic in Forestry and Woodland management
Fender solid body electric guitars were made from Alder in their thousands . It was when they ran out of swamp Ash . -
But not -always- expensive: the Hyundai/Chinesium ones are about £20- each, reversible. Although £120- each, for the Cheese biscuit blades(?) on muggin's Forest Master Chineseium chipper (Epic fail -see Small chipper thread). 🫣

A munter can be put on most biners, yes, but most smaller ones not fit two or more which is often required in rock climbing. HMS indicates its suitable for two or more clove hitches. There are plenty of symmertical ones. An example HMS Classic Auto Block - hms carabiner with sleeve - KONG WWW.KONG.IT Aluminium connector with 3 actions Auto Block sleeve and Keylock system It has nothing to do with the shape of the rope basket.

It's true, talking to people in the engineering world the Chinese have made so much investment in everything from education to automation and factory infrastructure that they undoubtedly can make good stuff, or if we want it cheap they can make it cheap.

Well…strictly speaking, it’s not is it? Reading this thread it is an abbreviation of the German word. If people assumed (wrongly) that it stood for something else it doesn’t change anything.

Yes , only 12 volts on the forward Herschmann plug when 'rollers on' speed is reached. -
Greenmech quad trac I feed roller not working
Grassyass replied to Grassyass's topic in Maintenance help
I’ve clean the plug but it was already spotless,is there a switch on the stop bar that could cause a problem , also the display read rollers on as it should , should there be 12v at the hershman plug only when chipping speed is reached? I appreciate your help on your day off 👍 -
Greenmech quad trac I feed roller not working
Jase hutch replied to Grassyass's topic in Maintenance help
Ok , when you have the Bulgin plug separated look carefully at each plug , there is a castellated nut with four raised lands around the outside of the pins , carefully using a small screwdriver , loosen these nuts (if you're careful you can fully unscrew and remove them) and then invert the plug so the pins are facing downwards and attempt to waggle the pin portion of the plug to see if there's water there ? The continuity test i previously attached needs to test out correctly or the problem is from the plug back to the control box. If you have an airline then I would suggest blowing out the plugs or alternatively you could use contact cleaner spray. -

Spoon and bowl carvers rate it. Clogs are made from willow mostly. -

When I got the house in France I bought a chinesium version of the Greenmech CS100 (Geotec Pro) to get the orchard back into production. I have used it far more than I thought I would, it has worked out great for narrow access/long drag work, or when the customer is happy to keep the chip, it has chipped trees far larger than you would think without dropping a beat. It has paid for itself ten times over. When I move it on I will replace it with a similar size JoBeau to run alongside the 6” road tow. Drum instead of disk all day in my opinion, minimum of 14hp.
