  1. Past hour
  2. You're right, this subject has been discussed multiple times on this forum. None of this online talk will help the victims in any way. So why keep bringing it up?
  3. Tried a pair of these on in store felt pretty good. Can anyone vouch for their long term comfort, any good with spikes? Any good for hiking as well- I know they’re stiff and a bit heavy Cheers
  4. A nice bag of ArbSurplus rope ends, most appear to be around 5m. Pair of saw lanyards, decent quality, made in UK.
  5. I wish! The only doctors I see are in A&E, Local practice has changed hands so many times I know their history better than what's on their website.
  6. Cheers for them answers. I hadn't thought about roadsise to be honest Mark, I might get away with that in spring when tree work's quiet. Thanks for the tip about Chainsaw Bars UK too, I get most of my milling kit that way but since Brexit I pay big import duties on it. He's got a load of Manpa stuff too I've seen which might be useful. I would probably be able to justify the expense if I knew I could sell some work off the back of it. Carving more would be a good start. Cheers again for your help, I probably will give you a shout Mark next time I'm over visiting.
  7. Currently I'm only lowering smaller peices, I'd estimate upto 40kg. Todays example using a couple wraps to lower it from in the tree. Two wraps was too much, I was hoping it would run smoother. Ofcourse with a groundie you wouldnt wrap for this size, I should also get proper rigging gear rather than old climbing rope. I do have a steel carabiners though. VID-20251001-WA0019.mp4
  8. I don’t Mark but I think you might have mentioned something more than once about “ your lass” being involved in such matters. That’s none of my concern, how long it went on for is in many respects a result of those whom hid it due to the reasons we are all aware of now. Assisted by those who wanted silence on the subject.
  9. I have done a small amount while working with experienced arbs and would like to learn it properly, so will look at getting a cs41 course booked. I'd like to have a good knowledge and some practise before doing the course, and its not likely to be soon. How good is the course, does it cover just the absoute basics, box ticking for employers? Any good online resources or videos?
  10. Looking into the digital ID thing it does seem fairly pointless. If you regularly get asked for ID and you dont have or dont want to carry around a drivers license or passport then I can see it being useful. I dont understand how they think it will cut down on illegal immigration in that you will need ID to get a job when the dodgy employers wont give a feck as you need an NI number and they never bother with that I presume. They do need to crack down on illegal employment which it looks like that are trying to do and if the ID card can make that easier then OK but I havent read anything that suggests it will.

  12. Just had a flashback to being very drunk and telling a similar joke to a Jehovah's Witness couple. I remember the silence well.
  13. As a group, men are very poor at popping in to the doctors, they would much prefer you 'waste their time' with a 10 minute check up once or twice a year to catch things early, than a weekly 10 minute visit where they up your pill doses. Same with mental health... and guess which industries are hit hard with that one! Point is, we are here only once, look after yourselves to make the most of it. Doctors are free to use so why not.
  14. From personal experience?.... or told by a bloke down the pub?
  15. I am a bit older than you and you get to a certain age and you realise that wealth is health not money , good to read you have been sorted .

  20. Sorry, I didn't realise you actively worked in that sector, it's been going on for years, has it not? That must be taxing finding the time to help people, given your day job. Well done for that.
  21. Reading through your notes, looks like you’ve created a successful, varied and enjoyable business. Andrew
