Sure. And if you need to, you need to. But the vast majority of UK pickups are owned for prestige.
  4. Cor, I have never had any type of road assistance policy before but I was travelling from Minehead to Inverness so thought it prudent to have some cover. That was last January I took out the policy, I saw it was coming up for renewal and wanted to cancel. Looked on there website, not possible you had to phone and being a weekend no one was in. Week or so later the water pump belt snaps on the car, brill got RAC cover. 2 hours later a chap comes out to confirm what I have told them, 'yeah I can't fix that, you'll have to arrange your own recovery.' he said my policy doesn't cover any recovery. I showed him my member page online which stated that I indeed did have recovery. 'yeah that is it but it's not giving me an option to book a flat bed.'. So he ****************s off, very helpful-not. I phone back up, oh yes you do have that cover and they say we will recover you. We phone back, they seem to have our details mixed with someone else's vehicle and location. 5 hours waiting so far. Once recovery is here we have to call back for them to book us a taxi for our 1 1/2 hour journey home. Luckily I chose to limp the vehicle to a hungry horse establishment as it chilly out side. Fingers crossed a 7 seater taxi is up for the job by time recovery has arrived.

  7. Ah . Thanks . I am a shite speller 😀
  8. Good. He supported the Iraq war. There is no place for Labour in this day and age. Funny you should mention fascism and cancellation of elections. Keep an eye on The USA and their mango Mussolini.
  9. Labour row erupts after Andy Burnham blocked from byelection race APPLE.NEWS Allies of Greater Manchester mayor say No 10 has ‘chosen factionalism’ as decision leads to a furious... So cancelling elections where it’s looking like a defeat is on the cards, stop a rival from possibly challenging for the leadership in the long term, locking people up for having the wrong opinion 🤔🤔 Can someone remind me who are the fascists I keep hearing about from the leftards.
  10. unless you want to drive off pavement between September and April
  11. Yes, I've seen a lot myself last week. Velvet shank I think
  12. Hi, apart from being an insecticide it's other purpose is as an anti fungal agent and I use it to paint on boards that are to be stickered for much time seasoning to prevent blue staining on the grain particularly in softwoods like Pine, Spruce and Larch, but anything really. I really only mill wood for myself when the opportunity arises and I've got a few stacks of various woods that I can dig into when needed, but there's nothing worse taking a slab out of a stack that's been sitting for years to find that it's all blue stained specially up here in wet Northwest. Also Borax is the main component in woodworm and dry rot treatments, plus many other industrial uses.
  13. @Pete Mctree thanks. Thats Bob. The go to man for crane removals in Cumbria. He spends a lot of time doing tree work. He good and really nice.

And for those who really do want their load outside to get wet and stolen, the British version of a cool old yank blue collar pickup is not a Hilux or tray Landcruiser with a bed just big enough for a dolls’ house. It’s a mk6 flatbed Transit.
  15. Just being cheeky🙄

Weekly reminder that 90% of people who drive pickups would be better off with a van. Load spaces are lower, larger, more secure and waterproof.
  17. Somewhat, as it comes in flat pack and requires fixing together (4 main joints) there will Be water ingress. I think if you add some additional adhesive they would be completely. I bought the shelf as well for one of the side door - same quality and just bolts on. As has been mentioned I thought it was too good to be true but they turned out decent and three years no breakages etc although I look after my kit! They have plastic hinges on the doors which if you were heavy handed might break but as I say I’m don’t mistreat it.
  18. Just checked, rsi ones are now around £2800 + vat. made in South Africa and very sturdy, even so that’s a massive price gap so I’d be cautious
  19. Almost too good eh? I paid more than that for mine 10 years ago
  20. Are the canopies watertight? I know the roller shutter tend to leak.
  21. Looks the same offering from direct4x4.co.uk where I got mine - I believe these companies just drop ship from a Chinese manufacturer (not that that's an issue). I’ve had mine on 2 trucks for 3 years - easy to assemble, solid once fitted, not had any issues. Locks are crap but that doesn’t really matter, I’d rather they were crap and thieves popped the door rather than ripped the whole canopy apart! No issues with the gas struts, thoroughly recommend. I was so happy that I found them whilst looking at the smartcap offerings as saved myself £1500 on basically the same thing!

    Devon style

Another one for anyone on this journey with me. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AbXBeVz7V/? Why cast up in the summer?
  23. Looks a good price I’ve had similar, a bushtech from apb trading and an Alucab and much prefer the anlum canopies over the plastic type. worth bearing in mind if you’re gonna have a sliding tray, shelf and full with kit you might want stiffer springs on the back
  24. For anyone enjoying some Sunday football, a bit of nostalgia.
  25. Why.not truckman?
