  2. £40 that's a good price. Make sure you have the right gasket sealant and its worth getting new seals they are about £6 each. You cant get the main bearings from Stihl as they only come with the crank from what I can see. If the crank you are buying doesn't have the bearings fitted then take your time removing the old bearings, you could try putting the crank in the freezer for a good few hours then try to quickly heat up the inner race of the bearing to get it off. Spud might have a few tips on this. You can get a set of gaskets and the seals for about £20, part number 4282 007 1600. The sealant is a bit pricy from stihl but they recommend dirko HT red which you can get from a lot of places.
  3. Useful to know, thank you!
  4. In France, no qualifications are required to become a tree climber. Insurance companies don't ask for anything other than your business registration certificate and even then, they are pretty lax about who can obtain insurance. The authorities are only now beginning to more strictly regulate the industry. Regardless of that, France doesn't recognise UK NPTC certificates.

  6. Weird isn't it, for one who is so keen to cut all government spending, starting with any spending on humanity, JonsonDs response to this story is "move on, don't talk about it, lets talk about something else" where in reality we should be saying that everyone who took money fraudulently needs to pay is back and with interest added on top. But not old double standards JonsonD, they made bucket loads, better not talk about it, jog on to the next story please.
  7. Barrowman didn't provide many a tasty eyeful though - so without that redeeming factor he's just another conman who's gotten away with fleecing the taxpayer. Of course you can point to other waste of public funds, but that was just 2 individuals who knew exactly what they were doing. In fact the whole VIP fast lane set up was a view into Conservative corruption. I would like to see the whole NHS supply chain nationalised. A nationalised gown procurement operation wouldn't have to be as efficient as private, as no dividends to pay. Same for water, trains, everything. I really don't like a lot about the private sector - vampire squid on steroids. Why do you think Norway still has a majority holding in Equinor? Coz they are not fecked in the body, mind and soul. France has bought back EDF off the market. No more pigs siphoning off the cash.
  8. Here's some more - not sure that they are all even fungi !!!

  11. Thanks for replies Will check out the shop one mean time I’ve made a rough one with plywood 1/2 inch and a bit of rail it might suffice for now
  12. I've absolutely nothing useful to add to this really, but I'm intrigued- did you transfer UK qualifications to France, or train up over there?
  13. We've made a couple up over the years- one for square posts is particularly useful to stop them twisting

  16. Mone provided many a tasty eyeful, you actually seen the figures for the amount of money lost due to companies going under at the min. Or for that matter government waste, Chagos billions etc etc
  17. I saw Gareth A Davies in the petrol garage a few weeks back... M&S one of course.
  18. Mone and Barrowman both know how Ltd companies work - neither should ever be allowed to run one again. They need cable tying to a hospital bed and force feeding forever. Then take as much blood out of them while keeping them alive. Make em do something useful
  19. FFS Mark I thought you were still on about what you said was Churchills grandson or that well known alky junkie Blandford 🤷‍♂️ So what do you want from Mone ?? You know how ltd companies work lad. People cried to be made safe, they provided shite eqpt like the useless masks many felt safe behind 🤷‍♂️Shit yes but a drop in the ocean to the overall cost of the farce, many you included supported. Anyway Covid thread for that stuff bud 👍
  20. Found this on my walk today. Have to say I've never seen anything like it - so someone please enlighten me ??? It's spherical, hard and about 3-4 inches across (keyring for reference). Tree is Goat Willow My only thought is that it is some sort of gall - but if there's a wasp in there, I definitely don't want to be around when it emerges !!!!!

  21. those 2 are so clever with their offshore trusts and company liquidations. Syphon it off to somewhere out of reach then dump the company. Scum
  22. Cheers mate, that backs up what Toyota told me today! Apparently I will have to remove the tipper if they do deem the chassis worth replacing, but for the value of a new chassis for free I’m ok with that. Tools down and everything cleaned, time to enjoy some of the British bests above…….merry crimbo all!🙌
  23. i wait till I get 300+ ton then hire a big slow speed shredder in and a digger with grab. We shred the lot in 24 hrs then lorry it to site and store it in a shed till we burn it. with rising costs it’s barely worth doing now tbh but I’d love the smell
  24. How very diverse! Surely just a misunderstanding? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2025/12/19/green-party-councillor-arrested-over-modern-slavery/
  25. Hello, Looking for sage opinions and advice from the honourable and most venerable citizens of this Parish, especially those who have experienced similar. We currently operate from home with a garage attached. However it would be nice to separate home from work life. I have just been offered a unit in an industrial park visible from a well trod road that leads to the local tip and sharing clean modern premises with a construction firm to who I have subcontracted to before and they to I. Our turnover has been relatively stable since 2018, more than enough to live on but not enough to employ a full time climber without taking a salary hit. (Don't try to equate UK employment costs with France) The unit is 800 euros per month all in and far larger than my current needs. A new alarm and surveillance system is included. My feeling is that having a presence in this area would raise the profile and credibility of the business and so potentially bring in far more work thus more than compensating for the cost of renting a unit. I can have our business signage displayed promenently on the building visible from the road and put an A board out front. Please, share your thoughts and experiences. Thank you Stuart
