I've been for a wander this afternoon - got about 25 pics mainly of buttery brown fungi on tree stems and roots - all look a bit similar to my untraines eye. I can upload a few if anyone is interested ???? But the one i would like an ID on is this one please. It really looked pale blue. About 2 inches across. -

Hi 42. It is actually on an old dead Oak about 6 inches off the ground - poor photo. No need to revise your notes ! -
That’s a lot of machine for the money - absolute bargain, well done!

Looks great Tom. I’ve always thought spending money on a decent grab is a wise investment. No point having 17” guns if you’ve got baby hands!

That is exactly the problem. It’s like Reg’s bollard with the crank handle. It works, but you’re constantly resetting the capture pulley. Endless is what’s needed, but a £3.5k GRCS is sledgehammer to crack a nut territory for a lot of our jobs.

When Amsterdam was occupied the Jews suffered terribly, banned from public places, many rounded up and sent to the camps to be murdered. Now what? Now some of todays Jews, namely hardline Israelis have dealt some out themselves. Israel has committed genocide in the Gaza Strip, UN Commission finds 16 September 2025

How much?!? Do any lowering devices use a mechanical brake to move the heat disipation away from the rope? I might have a few ideas for this 5" bar of 6082..

Homemade a soup for a few lunches and vat of beef stew for the freezer once I've had a portion tonight!

Defo give NFU a shout then mate. You also have to remember a lot of people probably don’t declare any modifications to their insurers which probably isn’t the wisest move.

We are fast approaching Halloween. Think of, and have a care for, the environment. Don’t buy plastic skeletons. Locally sourced all natural skeletons are much more environmentally friendly.

I tried Beefsteak Fungus once. It was edible, but that's as far as I'll go. Similarities are in appearance only. Best left where they are. That whopper above is the first time I've seen one growing on the ground. They're normally on tree trunks, so no need to kick over any wanted ones! -
I worked out it was roughly between 350 & 450kg, I was very impressed, especially to lift to the side and track. I paid £14700 plus vat for the digger, it was a 2024 machine brand new, 5 years full warranty! More than my cheapskate self wanted to spend but I couldn’t pass up the chance with that cover. Grab and rotator was about 4k inc vat, worth every penny for the better quality parts and Hywels help!

Yes I know the payload would be shocking. I agree it’s better with a fork and boards. Either way I am struggling to find sensible insurance with a modified tub. Thought a tipper might be easier to explain.

Jase knows some of the historical stuff which we did but got nothing for! I think I did the extracurricular stuff for fun and because no one else was going to do it anyhow! Hard not to get a bit bitter looking back at it!
-
You’ll be better off getting some greedy boards and a potato fork.

I know it’s not what you’ll want to hear Conner, but I wouldn’t bother converting a double cab to a tipper. Got to be king cab to avoid a ludicrously small payload. Lad round here spent £6k converting his and bitterly regrets it.

Same here but I like to see them. It annoys me that the fungi eaters kick over the ones they don't want. -

And another one ! This is the same fungi that I posted in Sept 2020 - in the same place on the same tree - only much bigger (that's my size 9 glove) ! Beefsteak anyone ? Sorry to say that I don't have that many friends (or family!) 'brave' enough to eat it so i might just leave it where it is !!!
