Morning campers! Starring to warm up here, another heatwave incoming. A little grinding job then back to the workshop to try and get some machinery back in working order. One more week before the holidays.

Happy Friday Arbtalkers 😉

Morning all. Less sightseeing yesterday, getting through the last of Floris now. Had one interesting job, a tree I reduced back from a building maybe 6 months ago. I remember it felt different climbing it, discovered why. One event happened, our long awaited delivery! Will get a proper look at it later today... Have a good one folks.

All it’s doing is averaging/summarising the things people have put on the internet. People. Average people. The people in the middle of the bell curve. Pig ignorant slags whose collective wit has probably already been harnessed to control the rods in nuclear reactors. I might move closer to one. Get it over with quickly. Christ we’ve cocked this planet up.

Cheers for that, although having watched it there was no mention of loler/puwer, I've emailed them to ask. Defo a good shout

Tree surgery? All that cutting and chipping? Hardest game in the world that. Done it meself you see, 30 years man and boy.
-
Something is fishy about the picture though, fungus stem doesn't appear from the edge of the cut like that. Doesn't exist anywhere else maybe because AI generated for the post.
-
ok, thanks for reply, although google reverse image search of the complete pic by cul de sac or road gives only the arbtalk as exact match. It may be something that is learning, as if Id asked a question I would have probably checked the site for a day or two after, even if no reply in the first few hours

I don't know a huge amount about all this AI stuff though, except that the big cost is providing training. I guess that asking questions and getting answers gives them more conversations to feed the beast, essentially for free - rather than paying people in India. So I guess the title comes from a ChatGPT type "generate a question for arborists" type prompt and it doesn't really understand grammar as such.

It's not hard, it's just that most don't want to pay the money. Vermeer 925 will smash everything in its size class, but you pay for the privilege. Still way cheaper than a groundy. -

@Mick Dempsey I was mostly looking at the size of any potential machine, which sort of drew me towards the cheap ones. I do like the look of the MicroBull, it’s hard to find a good compromise between size and lifting capacity. Or something that will run more than 1 or 2 attachments -
Mick the TW230 is the most popular chipper in the UK because we are all as thick as pig shit.

I think it’s too little lifting powers , good arb trolley will beat that easy! -

Something like this for a little over a quid a day might be worth looking at: Annual Package — RAMs App Software | Risk Assessment Software, Method Statement Software and COSHH Assessments WWW.RAMS-APP.CO.UK I haven't used it so can't endorse it, and have posted it as an example, but products like this one are what I'd be strongly looking into if I was in your postition.

Your tip site currently says you don't want logs. You might want to edit that for starters.

Normally, yes, but the one you quoted was following the natural flow of the conversation. I could have written it less succinctly but made the same point: "those that voted for Brexit, the Brexiteers, would never accept a solution involving 'making a deal' with the French and the EU, it would mean breaking that sacred vow that all things EU are evil, should not be tolerated. All trade and world diplomacy should be directed away from the continent. Rwanda is a case in point where a civilised country, like the UK, actively supports sending the desperate to a country renowned for its genocide and human rights abuses"...but I think my original way was better and more to the point.
-
What's the point , you know it all , all in doing is going by the machines ive used ,known or owned
-
The 230 is a much better chipper than the 150 performance wise, and from what I've heard they don't chew bearings anywhere near as bad. stretching to a 230 will benefit you long term. would probably swerve the Forst.

Tell me about Pezzolato Walter.

Does any such app exist for logging puwer/loler/R.A's etc? We're about to move to doing work on the motorways so have to start looking at streamlining everything. Any help is appreciated as always.

The last load of logs I got were in payment for servicing a couple of saws and yes, I did send 20% of the logs to HMRC.....yet to get a response🤔

SHOULD I BE WORRIED? I really need your advice on a serious problem: I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs: if the phone rings and I answer, the caller hangs up; she goes out with the girls a lot. I try to stay awake to look out for her when she comes home but I usually fall asleep. Anyway last night about midnight I hid in the shed behind the chipper. When she came home she got out of someone's car buttoning her blouse, then she took her panties out of her purse and slipped them on. It was at that moment crouched behind the chipper that I noticed a hairline crack in the engine mounting bracket. Is that something I can weld or do I need to replace the whole bracket?

All of the new stuff was built down to a price, one of the tw 150s locally had alloy vanes on the back of the flywheel, compared to the entec chippit 35 dh ,which was identical, then u had issues with the bearings . Then another associate had the early tw 150 tracked and it wouldn't hold on the hill (tracked version) shit hydraulics . Tw 160 ph , is the new entec ch25 built with a decent kohler engine the were built well. Then timberwolf brought out the same model as the tw 125 but available in petrol or diesel varients , diesel was lombardini and shook it self to shit ,but with a single feed roller . Then the was the 12 inch chipper, road tow but they were dropped, U had the tw240 but that's been stopped ,and the small shredder that's been stopped now . That's timberwolf that I know want me to go on about greenmech , quick chip/ts , tp lindana, pezzolato . Surprised being in France your not pushing saelen. Got to stop the slagging off its not clever and is poor form, just got admit other people sometimes have better knowledge about equipment and that's been gained over years and other people setups or business's.
