If you are planning to take a fir bit off go slower an over a couple of years else fruit trees will send up a lot of new growth to compensate - 20% sounds about right. I would start with looking at the crossing over bits taking out anything touching another branch then step back to take a look, see how much you have taken off with that. Also while you are there anything that is dead. If it was mine the next step would be to take it down a bit from the top and bring in some of the longer horizontal ones (the thinner ones going left to right in the first picture) and leave it at that for this year. Next year see how it responds, what new growth it sends up then have a look at clearing some space and opening it up a bit. However some apple trees thrive and produce good crops with a more closed in centre.... opening it up might produce fewer larger apples - I know my boys prefer many smaller apples though.

Oh I completely agree, seens the police are useless , however in this day and age you will get someone stab u in the back by filming it... the stuff you could get away with you cant and because the police are biased - ie all this so called mental health shit, or they came from a bad home etc means that the police are geared up to protect the criminal, including the justice system and prisons...there the worst as the moj are so scared to be sued by a prisoner that they will bend over backwards for them. Nothing will change until u get rid of the human rights shite. Maybe then il happily get involved but unless my life's in danger , I couldnt be bothered .

Hi All With the soon to be here tax change for pick ups what are those of you going to do as a replacement? Ive a crew cab pickup but the additional tax will make it not viable to keep. Its used predominately for pricing and the odd tow when i hire in platforms or tracked chipper (probably 10 time a year if that). I have a personal family car so it doesnt get used for family duties. Im stuck in the mind set that if im going to get a useable van for work (like stump grinding) then it needs to really be a bigger van. A mid size (MWB) transit for example looks to me like a bandit sg40 would really struggle to fit in. Let alone a connect or courier sized one. So a small vehicle thats a lot easier for day to day traveling about. So then i can look at the commercial vans. Toyota landcriser, defender or even a suzuki Jimney. I am actually leaning towards the Suzuki as its a lot cheaper, smaller etc. Down side it doesnt tow much compared to the bigger ones but then again i have 2x 3.5 vans so they can take over that duty. Part of the other reason for thinking about it now is that come close to the time wont the market collapse as everyone comes to swap out to avoid the deadline. Where as now the values are probably pretty good. Just seeing what the rest of you are thinking if in the same boat. Cheers

What’s this interesting material coming out of my stove?
Muddy42 replied to Mr. Ed's topic in Firewood forum
When you say recent install, was a new full steel liner used? If so this becomes a fully sealed steel unit where its impossible for foreign objects to get in. A DIY-er or cowboy might snag or break the liner, but that's pretty unlikely. Tell your wife to stop burning chickens! The moisture and fat will cool the flames and produce a horrendous creosote which will damage or shorten the life of your stove. Also the smell outside must be horrendous! -
All solved by cleaning, she is running great today. Yes Stubby it is the Farmertec.

Is this a genuine 372 or a Farmertech clone ?

Hi guys, hope everyone is doing well. I looked at a few pruning topics but couldn't find anything that really answered my questions (although I did pick up a ton of good info). Some friends of mine have this mature apple tree in their garden which they love, it provides them with a good crop of cooking apples every year and is a feature of their garden. They want to prune it which I said I was happy to do but I just want to get the balance right. My plan so far is to open up the middle a bit, remove dead and crossing/inward/vertical branches. Is there anything else I should be looking at? Some of the shoots are fairly chunky now, should I be reducing their number or focusing more on smaller branches/shoots? I'm looking at removing about 20% of the canopy overall. Thank you!

OK thanks I understand now. If its squirting only when the chain is moving, my guess would be there is nothing wrong here just excess oiling, which you could turn down. or oil is too thin. But always worth checking. Sometimes the bar or faceplate can get dirty or dented allowing oil to leak out in strange places. Normally though oil would just leak downwards to the chain catcher area You can make a paper copy of your bar to check the alignment of the bar hole? You could run the saw gently without the bar off to see where oil emerges from the body of the saw. The risk is that the clutch flies off, so I do this outside, pointing in a safe direction and after the saw is warm so it doesn't require much revs.
-
From the top of the bar area, a good squirt was shooting out every second. With the saw held with the recoil side downwards, gravity had it landing on the exhaust. I'm about to fire her up, if its not cured by yesterdays cleaning I will try to get a video.

‘WHITE MAN ATTACKS MUSLIMS!’ Surprised Khan didn’t have him locked up.

I was trying to place him, and i did wonder if that was him.id have like to known what he originally did time for , be funny as if he turned out to be into nicking small plant , chainsaws and arb equipment . At the end of the day some people fight so people flight , its becoming so normal now that its not shocking to hear this on a day to day basis anymore . I just feel for the victims and all of the medical staff having to deal with war zone injuries in a civilian set up and the scars they have to deal with.
-
Can you clarify what you mean by oil squirting "from the bar mount area, directly to the exhaust"? For me the bar mount area is on the side of the saw and the exhaust is behind this. Oil should stay on the bar mount side and it shouldn't be possible for bar oil to squirt onto the exhaust.

Hi I’ve been looking for a little mini digger for a while now, a neighbour is selling a 2008 Kubota KX 41 3V for not a lot of money. Straight enough machine with a good cab and sharp responsive hydraulics. It’s not gonna be used commercially rather a bit of landscaping, Foundations and general work around the property, just wondering if anyone had used one or had any experiences good or bad. Cheers

Morning all, Hopefully finishing last week’s job off if rain not too bad. I was never the best at branch walking, and pruning beech in the wet is not my greatest ability. Have a good week

What has that got to do with it? He stepped up shouted “**************** you I’m Millwall” and steamed in to the attackers. It was probably because he was Millwall firm member. Whatever his past, he got up and took action whilst all the others just gasped or ran away.
