Yes, I saw that last night somewhere. Roughly 50-50 vote, the old voted 60-40 for Brexit, the young the other way, 40-60, balanced out with a tiny majority to Brexit. 5 million old people died, 5 million young people are able to vote now gives a theoretical remain majority of about 4 million if the vote was now - assuming those who have changed their minds either way balanced each other out. Considering that the young will inherit and want to be a part of the EU we should pay attention perhaps to this.

However, there is yet hope. Economic growth no longer linked to carbon emissions in most of the world, study finds | Fossil fuels | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Analysis marking 10 years since Paris climate agreement underscores effectiveness of strong government... It looks like the horse of the fallen people is indeed losing. 10 Years Post-Paris: How emissions decoupling has progressed ECIU.NET Global CO2 emissions are still rising, but this masks a striking shift beneath the surface: a growing share of the world...

The margin for Brexit was just shy of 2m people. 5m people who voted for Brexit were old and have since died. Given another referendum, I imagine we'd rejoin the EU. Then buy some guns to keep Rambo happy. I have a feeling that Kier Starmer was put in place to quell Corbyn and leave the way open for Streeting. Unfounded conjecture, but my thoughts, nonetheless.
-
Yep, I don't trust that Wes Streeting bloke much at all. I reckon he'll turn out to be even worse than Kier Starmer. Talking of cloths, they're both smurfs who've stolen Elmo's cloths.

Like that old adage of taking an umbrella out with you if you don't want it to rain.
-
It doesn't matter where you put it. The same people who have fallen for the emperor with new clothes will still do what they can to belittle it, as they know that their horse is losing. I said a while back that we're looking at West Streeting, and JD Vance as leaders in the interim. They're both part of Bildeberg, and both very much part of Peter Thiel's team. Make of that what you will.

Thanks buff! Always good to learn a new word. Better to have a petillant rather than a petulant wine I suppose.

Dan. I agree, but the C-BE models were pretty rare. Let's be honest it's a pro saw. So none I know needs a 'comfort' model saw. Very popular option for the home owner weekend warrior type saws, but pretty rare option on a pro saw., and even rarer for a homeowner to buy a 261..there's a few, but few and far between.

Thanks The Donald. I saw that, but I was going to put it in the Potus thread.

Well, anyone seeking solace wouldn't find much in there! Not that I disagree with any of it. Though I would add that today's and the not so long dead politicians and dictators should be shouldering more of the blame. The long dead ones might have known that there was a problem, but they couldn't have known quite how grave a problem it was going to be. They knew nothing in comparison to what today's lot know but choose to ignore. Is it really too late though? That's a bleak outlook. Surely it's worth striving to make the eventual outcome even slightly less bad. Chris Packham. I'm in two minds about the bloke. I like the message but not so much the messenger. He's a bit much, but I'm grateful he's doing what he's doing.

Stihl MSA200c battery charging issue after inactivity.
pleasant replied to Fatboy2017's topic in Chainsaws
The recommended file diameter for filing Oregon 1/4" chain IS 4.0mm (5/32") it's only Stihl that recommend 3.2mm for 1/4" chain. -

Watched all this crap up in Scotland for years now, Sturgeon and the Greens were mad for it. Pure lunacy and anyone supporting it should be seeking help.

Think @Mick Dempsey 's tip to use a 4mm file, works ok at the start and much easier than the recommended 3.2 which is really bendy. -
Stihl MS261c Easy start swap to normal housing
Dan Maynard replied to Fatboy2017's topic in Chainsaws
Seems like there would have been so many scrapped 261 for crankshaft around a few years ago, maybe there's still one under a bench somewhere you could swap all the bits? My 261 still running so you can't have my starter yet. -

Yup....unless you do it manually, don't bother trying with an approved grinder like we have in the workshop.....takes too much meat off in a pass, so at the end of it you may get one more sharpen out a chain thats needs its first sharpen after dulling off...plus the locking guide on the machine is quite proud, so you actually take a knick out of the guide with the wheel on its way down to meet the cutting tooth edge. For that reason we don't bother offering a sharpening service for 1/4" chain. Either sharpen it manually yourself or replace as and when with new..they're not dear -
The flywheels are different between the standard recoil and the c-be 'soft starter' which like you say, should never be dropped started due to the twin recoil spring system. Probably no help , but the part number for the standard recoil starter flywheel is 1141 400 1200, and the complete standard recoil starter to fit it, is part number 1141 080 2104. Ironically you CAN buy the outer recoil housing without the guts of it, only for the standard recoil system, but NOT for the CB-E soft start (twin spring recoil) Part number for the soft starter flywheel is 1141 400 1202, and part number for the complete soft starter recoil assembly ready to bolt straight on is part number 1141 080 2103, with a rrp of of just the starter alone is (wait for it.....) £144.00 inc vat!!

Josh, Can't you get anywhere near it, using a Quad/scrambler/Off-road scooter type thing instead, perhaps with panniers or a crate strapped on ? Might be more fun than a sweaty walk with a rucksack full of gear and sandwiches.. 🤔
