It is however, what built the finances of the US though. See a lot of time "what made us great" is seen through rose tinted glasses rather than what actually happened, romanticised to take away the blood sweat and tears, and most often blood. So if you are hankering after a past where the US was making bucket loads of cash, you need to go back to how they were making it too.

Seems very petty to charge for oil and grease! Ok on the stop switch as that does need to be paid for but it does sound a little excessive. But who knows, it's probably an arb switch which will cost very mucho moneys compared to say standard switch.

I’m suprised they didn’t add sharpening of blades tbh. Excessive? Prolly, but them’s the breaks on hire machines.

Charging for oil and grease it taking the piss. I know it's not the expensive bit but still. Why is the end user being charged for the maintenance of the machine that should be factored into the hire price Re: the e-stop I'd be asking for proof of the cost of parts and the time to replace. Seems excessive.

If ANTIFA and BLM are taken into account,I would say the majority of political violence comes from the left.

It is fair from the hire company, it was damaged by you, and it wasn’t a consumable. The relationship between you and the client, is….between you and the client.

Key word being context

It's interesting to read how the same rules don't apply to both sides (in the view of the current administration), with regards to the appropriate responses in the wake of "political violence". "Trump responded by making repeated jokes at Paul Pelosi’s expense." and how despite Trump's obsession with "radical left violence": "all extremist-related killings in the US in 2024 were connected to rightwing extremism, just as they were in 2023 and in 2022" The US is on the brink of another era of political violence – and Donald Trump ‘couldn’t care less’ | Jonathan Freedland | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM In their humane responses to the killing of Charlie Kirk, Democrats are observing the old norms. Things are different...

I felled some regrowth thorns for a customer, and burning them onsite wasn't possible. They were in a paddock belonging to someone else, I'd felled them from the dyke bank. Having decided that removing them with a trailer was going to take a long time, and be very unpleasant, so client and I decided to hire a chipper. At my suggestion, one was hired from a local company who he had an account with, due to them having taken over the clients from a company who were no longer trading. We got a Timberwolf 190 with a diesel engine, and it performed far better than the Greenmech Quadchip 160 we had used on a job for another client. So far, so good. Only problem was, when feeding it, a branch whipped round, and knocked the emergency stop button off the intake hopper. When I returned it, I told them immediately, and was told " oh that's no problem at all". Customer rang me today, and isn't happy. He's had a repair bill. £3.50 for the oil the engine used, ( in less than four hours ) £3 for a cartridge of grease to regrease the machine. Now the dubious bits- £100 for the stop switch, and £90 labour. Customer now faces a £200 bill on top of the hire charge, and is not a happy bunny. I am not flavour of the month either, as you might guess. Have we been turned over, or is it par for the course? No contract was shown before hiring. The company is a big agricultural dealer, but the hire side is growing so fast that it appears to be run by a sort of " arms length " company. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

oh ok - so according to the late great tiktok star - we should be worried blacks in responsible positions (like pilots) aren't just there as a diversity hire

Was donated a perfect condition hedge trimmer this afternoon which wont start. Its 25yrs old, just doing 5hrs a year with it for myself. Always was a good starter until yesterday, when it wont fire up. Test as follows Fuel Good Spark Good Exhaust Removal - Piston is scored............now i know why it wont start, It has come compression I guess as it pulls a good bit stiffer with spark plug in than out. It gave a roar once for 2 seconds while i was attempting to start it. Its in perfect condition, thus I think its worth an engine rebuild. Where would I source a kit for it Shindawa LE230 engine, a 22.5cc.

No obviously not, I don't think bringing back slavery has ever been suggested or condoned.

How hard is it to fact check something before posting? This snippet has been clipped from a debate he was having about affirmative action - in short he just hopes the pilots qualified and hasn’t been given the job based on his colour. Context is everything but at least we now know you probably blindly peddle drivel daily.

No market for Biomass?

Financially? You mean slavery then. Built off the back of the African slave. (We are not immune to this either - the port cities of the UK were the same - Liverpool, Portsmouth, Glasgow, Bristol...)

Well it has standards, which have made it what it is, so hence it sticks to. Who did he have to blame for that? Yes Kirk was very aligned with Christians, (I think he said himself that colour doesn't come into it though). America through being a Christian country quickly became the greatest country in the world, Trump is 'making America great again' by bringing it back to the values which made it great in the first place, which they'd got away from during Biden presidency. Popular? No not always. Best for America? Yes it seems so, which is his job as president.

you talk as though people who don't this in the accepted way are spiteful or just plain wrong.

Giant Tree Squid eats rocky bank. Excuse the dodgy quality. I found it last night, sorting out photos on Photobox. It was about 20 years ago, when people still used cameras. -
Talk about not “ getting it”

America is a dangerous place - ask John Lennon Charlie Kirk was very aligned with white republican Christians and that's OK. But it doesn't mean his views were correct or the most valid. On religion

I don't watch south park but I can't imagine its a balanced place to base your opinion of anyone on. Everyone has a political view, but to invite anyone to come and debate that with you in front of 1000's of people rather than just air it behind a keyboard is something very very few people would have the courage to do. 'He was never flustered, he never had to raise his voice to be heard or shout over someone. He had a quiet determination to spread his message while giving others the opportunity to come and counter his views with their own and talk about it. He'd often quieten the crowd who heckled the person at the mike even though they had opposing opinion to him, acting to make sure he didn’t promote ridicule or humiliation, but a genuine will to try and understand their point of view. He was silenced by someone who didn't have the intelligence to stand up and debate him' (this paragraph I copied from another post, but think its so true). Its certainly a sad day for America. Very enlightening to watch his opinions on Great Britain, this is someone who didn't go to university, travelling halfway across the world to Oxford University to debate, and it seems understanding the underlying issues of Britain today better than those in power (on both sides);

Giant Red Wood bark resits burning . Birch bark makes great fire lighters . So, depends on the species .
