Work or starve is indeed the only choice. Which didn't really help them when they couldn't string a coherent sentence together. But please, let's not go too far into the COVID thing here. I think It's important that we recognise that we need to look out for one another. And that going to the quacks should be the norm, rather than the exception.

its nearly 100% right, those 2 you know are in the minority, only paye tend to dramatise. Work or starve should be the only choice

Mark J started following Health - don’t ignore the symptoms!

That's not right. I know, personally, two people who were pretty much scuppered by COVID brain fog. Both of whom are now back firing on all cylinders, and back to writing. Men are generally shit about talking about their mental, and physical health. Having lost a good mate to suicide in the recent years, it has made me a little bit more empathetic towards my fellow man.

It’s like the number of self employed people with ‘long covid’. Zero.

I read it, like I say the stresses of for example yourself doing the daily train commute to a public sector office job with a pension, holiday pay, sick pay and all the rights it gives pale into insignificance compared to a self employed worker or SBO having to find work, balance the books, pay staff and deal with ever changing circumstances and government/hmrc changes, the recent NI Hike and change of BIK rules on crew cabs being just two examples. Unless I’m mistaken and you are actually do work in the “ industry” you allude too. You see Steven if I take time off because I’m “ stressed” I don’t get paid, funnily enough the result is I don’t get “ stressed” often. Strange that 🤔🤷♂️

Don't they have a lemon law in most states of America?.

Love me a bit of Tull, seen them loads however Anderson since the late 80's has got a voice like a goose farting in the fog in a Norweigan fjord - nasty business - avoid! Also a big Marillion fan, post Fish as well a fine British band who never got the credit they deserve in my opinion...

Serious question 🤷♂️try answering for a change. I know you tend to be very sensitive about how you make a living but having spent my entire life post armed forces being self employed I stand by my comment.

If you compare to say construction or farming, not so bad, but if you were to compare to the population as a whole it is on the worse side. However in all men tend to try to continue on regardless, until they snap, again going back to the OPs point, never let yourself get to that point, physically or mentally. One thing on the mental health side, it is OK to ask for help.

Thats an interesting one!

depends which parts of the forum you read

ah yeah, but without money you can't buy health - health needs paying for with hard currency. Good food and good medical care all cost money. Money is the most important thing. The Beatles sang 'money can't buy me love', but love can't exist inside a dead body and it's money that keeps the body alive

This 40 year old cedar was planted by the current resident. I have never seen anything like this before. On the left side of the photos the root buttress sounds a bit soft/hollow but otherwise the trunk base sounds pretty solid when knocked with nylon head hammer. The fact the tree has a fair lean towards a neighbouring house, and the dubious buttress is the most critical to counter the lean, the owner want the tree down. I think this is the right decision. The crown is not showing any obvious signs of distress/needle loss. Anyone any thoughts on the diagnosis?
