  1. Past hour
  2. Never known a clairvoyant & physic to ask a forum for advice. Saying that getting advice from the ghosts of dead arborists doesn’t make much sense as they clearly fell to their death on dodgy friction cord. As you were Clinton.
  3. Enough, Herr Bolam. For you, ze war is over.
  4. I really need to learn more about investing. I have no clue. Funnily enough Ive just started a SIPP as Im not giving HMRC a damn penny of my income. Anything that HMRC wants off of me at the end of the tax year will go into my SIPP and I'll owe HMRC zilch. But the best thing is I'll get the Government to pay me 20% of what I put in there. I was banging in 10% of my salary in 2019-2021 into my companies stock. I get it at the cheapest price point over the 6 month period meaning in 2020 I got 6 months of stock for under $5 a share. By May 2022 they had increased tenfold to $41.00. The company stock scheme is not so good now. Its over 3 months now and not 6. I'm better off investing in my SIPP, getting my free government 20% then investing that way once Ive figured it out. The greed of the Labour and SNP has gone from me "contributing" to HMRC as it was easy and laziness on my part to just pay when my self assessment was due to actively finding a legal way to contribute nothing and get a chunk of someone elses tax to boot. Ask @Johnsond and he'll tell you a similar story in his field. Many are dropping out of paying the high rate of tax one way or another. Another own goal from the Commie Pinko's.
  5. Schweinhund!
  6. The memories!
  7. I certainly did! And Warlord!
  8. When things start to go wrong. I'm a bit slow today. Wordle 1,561 5/6* ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  9. I remember talking with you on here about investments in March or April 2020 - just after oil had hit negative $40! I had bought some Royal Dutch Shell for my ISA, but then bottled it and swapped it into BT - you said 'that kinda sucks' and were obviously much more of an optimist than me. the two charts of RDSA and BT are below also, at the time RR was bombed out due to aviation stopped. You said about employer shares at the time - I remember you doing some tech job for an oil services firm, those pandemic shares must have gone up fourfold. Totally jealous valuations seem stretched to me now, most of my ISA is in 30 year gilts yielding about 5.4%, never gonna get rich staying out of the market, but there hasn't been a crash since the pandemic. Would be good for me if there was a crash on Trump's watch, while I'm all bonds. (so they cut rates to the floor and bond prices go up) Here's hoping for the biggest crash of all time

  11. You obviously didn't read commando comics Mark! Wordle 1,561 3/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  12. That's personal preference mate, Sewn e2e orient a lot nicer with a lot of configurations. If you're using a rope wrench with a double leg tether you'll struggle to fit 2 fisherman's onto a carabiner. Tied correctly, there's next to no sitback. You need to properly dress and set the hitch to get it to perform. I'm running it with a Freexion device (same concept as the wrench) and I'll choose that most times over the rope runner.
  13. Well I’m not going to get one. I will just use my brother’s.
  14. I’m trying to understand how it will do anything different than the NI number and anti fraud checks already in place. At best it’s a red herring to make it look like something’s being done, at worst it’s another way of mandating something which will later be exploited (legislation/law already in place will make it easier to impose future control/restrictions. Eager to learn - am I missing something?

  16. Morning All. Good evening at the rugby yesterday and will seem if i can get to watch Tigers match on tv but. She got some DIY jobs that need doing! Having a lie-in so will have a late start to the day. Might treat her a beer or two before supper too! Enjoy your weekend folks. Mitt, Sea, Gaye, Gnawed.
  17. Harnesses are a really personal fit and I always recommend try before you buy if you can. The tree Austria is a very well constructed and thought out harness. I have been using mine for about 18 months and cannot fault it. Supportive enough for a day on spikes and still has the range of movement required to work the canopy pruning. I added the shoulder straps which are a real game changer with a big saw and gives an attachment point to tend an srt device.
  18. Customers field by a stream. I was exceptionally thankful for my new tractor with a cab, I can tell you!
  19. Haha ! Crikey, you're not wrong there... but why didn't you just spray it, with a selective herbicide, before it started flowering?? Those hogweed seeds last up to 10 years... it's surprising how far they sometimes travel, too.. Apologies for the thread derail !
  20. Yeah, well maybe you’re not real man.
  21. I'll have to have a go with that catalyst, looks like less sitback. Also looks short enough to work in rope wrench, I never spent much time working on it but didn't really find a good knot and then just went RRP.
  22. I’m not convinced it’s a genuine word. Wordle 1,561 5/6 🟨⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟨🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  23. Also don’t waste your money on friction cord with a spliced eye each end
  24. So with the markets rebounding you've actually made more than you've lost on your investments?
  25. As per Steve's advice. Get a hitchclimber setup. Learning knotcraft in your early years will be invaluable. Hitchclimber with a 70-75cm eye to eye with a catalyst hitch is my go to.
  26. I knew I shouldn't have started. No I'm not saying it's to stop illegal working, its the government saying that. It is part of the government's strategy to stop or slow down illegal migration, it isn't a stand alone strategy. Start with making it harder for people to get employment and the uk is not a good place to go to for those who want to exploit the system, on top of that I'm sure that the laws around employers who have illegal workers will be tightened. This will have a knock on effect meaning less opportunity for criminal activities such as tax evasion and money laundering and human trafficking. I'm trying to show you how I see it, however you are the one putting up incorrect statements and barriers saying "how will it work?" No obfuscation, I have said from the start I want to make it as clear as possible for you.
