    Beer prices?

Because they have 800 venues and a huge distribution network. Therefore they can order kegs in huge volumes and be guaranteed to shift them, thus they get them at massively discounted rates. your local village pub orders one barrel a week through a distributor aka a middleman, so gets charged their cut aswell. If it’s not through a distributor they get tied into a contract with one supplier, who might give them £10k cash upfront and some branded furniture. But then they can only order from them, at inflated prices. £5/6 a pint once they’ve bought the barrel and paid someone to pour it, is them making 10/20p per pint profit if their lucky.

  9. Thanks for sharing that. I’ve looked at a few of those SZ130 chippers and always wondered how they’d hold up long term. The tracks and self-propel feature sound nice for rough ground, but yeah, the reliability can be hit or miss. Curious to see how it performs after a few months of real use.

  13. Hi, so my strimmer is a heavy duty strimmer / brushcutter. Bit i am taking on a new contract which has dmall grass areas on a steep undulating slope. Only way to keep it short is to use a strimmer. But my big 'bump head' one isn't good for cutting short grass neatly. Anyone experience of cutting grass short using a strimmer?
  14. Good Morning Pompey bound. Have fun.

    Beer prices?

Yes, late 90's in Cardiff Brains SA was the best choice. Started having a beer after starting work. Friday lunchtime when as the "boy" I was the beer bitch. Getting beers and delivering to tables. Charingtons IPA was around 38p I seem to remember. Sam Smiths Best bitter (in Richmond Surrey) was in the 40's. I remember later in the 80's when the price of IPA went over 50p there was protest. No longer 2 pints for a Quid. If those lads were around today!
  16. Brains was 1/10d when I first went to Wales, it tasted like vinegar to me after the sweet (and stronger) bitters here, but I soon got used to it.
  17. Is replacing a crank seal a guaranteed fix? I’m addressing the saw pro guys btw. Does a compromised crank seal not point to other issues? Can it running lean (if that’s what happens) not create issues with rings and overheating? Genuine question.
  18. Morning all, Early drizzle should clear then small job just up my lane. Dismantle small spruce between BT lines then small conifer next to it. Have a good weekend.
  19. Ok thanks for the replies. I'll get a seal ordered and take it to the local repair man.

  26. Morning all. Decent fettle this morning, been a good week. Got a couple of bigger jobs that were pending completed and the storm work list is completed. We've been a productive bunch and had a good laugh. Even managed to avoid a hellish Halloween drag yesterday which was the icing on the week! Could have been going up that winding, busy garden path and between the buildings behind then across a road but, this worked out. VID-20251031-WA0002.mp4 Have a good one folks.
