  4. Yeah, that can be frustrating. Some Echo models have sights that are slightly off from the factory. Best thing to do is make a few test cuts on smaller trees or logs and mark your own visual reference on the saw body once you find the true alignment. A quick paint line or scratch mark usually fixes the issue permanently.
  5. Surely not 42, I’d have thought you a well travelled man πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€”
  6. Yesterday
  7. Yeah, everyone up here uses facebook marketplace which seems to have become the main way to sell stuff cheaply locally, but I know I'll never go down that road, tbo this is my only online venture from which I've learnt a lot over the years....
  8. No, not much idea at all really. It's all a long way away from the west midlands, and even further away from the south west. Yes, they should be handing it over for free, but they're not unfortunately. That's why they're so obscenely rich. So dear David needs donations. You could still contribute. It's good to help sometimes, rather than just complain and criticise.
  9. I saw a good talk about the impacts of AI on education by some guy last year. Can't find it now which is a shame. It was hard hitting. He essentially said that in just a few short years the whole education system will be completely redundant. Due I think to the fact that our education system is largely based on the sharing and retention of knowledge currently. Very soon there'll no real need for that as almost everything can be looked up. Wish I could remember more details. There was also some discussion of the fact that education is primarily aimed at providing students with the knowledge required to gain and succeed in employment. But again, what's the point of that when the jobs for humans won't be there soon as most will be done by AI governed machines? Excepting some skilled, manual work obviously.
  10. It's 4yrs old but barely been used as it was a 2nd charger for when the main one was busy. Smell of burnt electronics. The main charger is a QC500, 6yrs old, has been used a lot, and still works fine Plenty of stories online of QC330 chargers dying. I wonder what is wrong in the design, they seem to have a very high failure rate.
  11. πŸ™„πŸ˜³ You know where Rothbury and Northumberland actually are ?. Lining the Percy’s pockets. They should be handing it over for free.
  12. Big difference between a helicopter and the internet. Probably an even bigger difference with AI. If used for evil deeds the helicopter can only inflict limited damage on the scale of things. AI on the other hand, given it's all pervasive nature, could result in untold harms in the wrong hands. Or even left to its own devices if some analysis is to be believed. There's no doubt at all that it's a powerful tool. Perhaps it's too powerful already. That wasn't the original question though.
  13. Ok, I thought you hailed from the NW, but no matter, my mistake. Doesn't make much difference though, you could still contribute to a good cause.
  14. Geography not your strong point it would seem.
  15. The one thing that's missing from almost all your choices, and what's the most usefull is a high/low ratio gearbox. Currently have a suzuki grand vitara 1.9diesel 2012 to replace my old 110 defender. Bought this purely for the low ratio and cheap price. Very happy with its abilities. Not got as much towing capacity (2.0t) but does it safely holding back my ifor williams 12' down steep grass and mud track from my upper mountain fields. Yokohama geolander all terrain tyres, relatively recent fitted. Tyre contact is everything off road. In comfort, without rainwater running down my ankles and with a heater that gets the whole car warm in less than 5minutes. We also just sold my wifes later vitara allgrip 1.6 , without low box, to trade against a volvo xc40 awd automatic. Not put the trailer on it yet, but impressed with its abilities up and down the same track. Standard road tyres. A little too fast coming down as all hill descent controlled vehicles seem to be.
  16. Where does this hangup about universities stem from? It's cropped up a lot recently. I must have missed that little episode on here. Sir David Attenborough backs bid to buy Rothbury Estate WWW.BBC.CO.UK Wildlife trusts attempt to raise Β£30m to keep Northumberland's Rothbury Estate from being split up. @Johnsond @Steven P @Mark J Any of you going to help David Attenborough out with this honourable venture? I think you're all local-ish. I chipped in earlier.
  17. Yeah I feel like the earlier 201s really struggled to get the revs up at all though eh? As a well looked after 200 I’m hoping I can get a bit more life out of it yet, but it can’t go on forever. Mechanically, does the 201 seem fairly solid now? Bearing in mind my benchmark is ~14 year lifespan with ~Β£250 spent on it in that time πŸ˜‚
  18. Nice. The mindset was a mixture of 1, 3 and 5 really. Plus hoping for a bit of confirmation bias if I'm honest, I think it's crap! Whilst fully aware of it being a vast, complex subject the question was an attempt to force a dichotomy. No fence sitting allowed. Based on the current trajectory of the AI rollout we're all going to be forced to come down on one side of the good/bad fence anyway. We're getting no opportunity to cherry pick only the good aspects of it.
  19. Takedown saw’s the one I’m after. Have t540 mk3, t540i, 150 and dcs 2500. All decent saws but nothing to match the 200.
  20. he must have been here MSN WWW.MSN.COM
  21. I was only using your words Mark, long time since I’ve been called babe mind. You are university educated and blessed with the ability to β€œget it” as I’m often told. If you can’t work out the rest then πŸ˜žπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚
  22. Equally depraved and disgusting.
  23. He’s just not a fun guy.
  24. Okay, I make of that that you're a snide babe who thinks he's clever.
  25. Make of it what you will

  27. What do you mean by that? Spell it out.
