  7. Just acquired roughly 5 acres of land of which 0.5 acres in mowed but undulating lawn. The rest is very scrubby, again undulating but no major slopes with areas prone to getting wet. I'm planning to maintain the lawn for family use but preserve as much of the wild areas as possible by mowing paths into the scrub to enable us to walk the area. I have a maximum budget of £5k to get what I need to manage it myself and I've done a lot of research online but looking for some experienced advice and reviews to guide me. Thought I'd narrowed it down to a Grillo Climber 7.15 brushcutter but then read about issues related to poor quality generally with cost of spares extortionate. Any recommendations very welcome, thanks in advance.
  8. Morning all, Forecast rain here, but no sign of it yet. Maybe do a bit in the garden, otherwise taking it easy. Happy Sunday

  12. Morning all . Looks fine today . Hope you all have a restful day .
  13. the post you quoted was from 27th July - thread archaeology. Freedom of speech should mean exactly that. If I say something against the global Jewish propaganda machine supporting Israel I fully expect the Jews to want me silenced for antisemitism. Same as Charlie Hebdo got clobbered. If you followed the chat on both nattering threads you would have seen Stephen P was just as much to blame, all Stephen P had to do was steer clear of Johnsond, instead of constantly quoting his posts and generally arguing with him day in day out, culminating in the bit about whether Johnsond was taking his daughters to the 'rapist' Trump's visit. It takes two to tango (no pun intended)

  16. I wonder if someone can answer my query? We have bought a new house in a conservation area, our house is overlooked at the rear by another property and we would like to remedy this. Our estimate is that due to the topography, we need a tree which will reach circa 10m in height. Therefore, we are considering buying a 5m tall, fast growing maple type tree callled Autumn Blaze. The trunk diameter of which is currently approx 60mm This would not be a replacement tree. I can only find information regarding dealing with existing trees in conservation areas and nothing regarding planting a non replacement new tree. My question is - Do we need to apply for for planning permission or notify our Local Planning Authority in order to plant the tree? Thanks in advance.

  19. Years ago I took a big Eucalyptus down disced trunk in 9inch thick piece and then had to quarter them to lift them into wheel barrow. After about a year sitting in a pile, borrow a 90hp tractor and Hycrak splitter, stooled tractor no end of times. And had easy bits with a cut with saw.

    Chickens?

This is the only other photo I have that I don't think I've already spammed here with. How do you tell? Are there things to look out for or is it just you can see it with experience?
  21. You're almost guaranteed a rooster from that lot. Both your others look like hens btw tho a closer pic would be clearer.
  22. A rip off, but with a swivelling chute which the greenmech misses.. Would you mind sending a couple of pictures of how it attaches? Also curious of how much of a clone it is to the greenmech, as in would it mount the same

  25. In a similar fashion to Trumps antics across the pond. Trump to scrap landmark finding that regulates carbon emissions WWW.BBC.CO.UK Experts warn the move will severely curb the federal government's ability to combat climate change.
  26. I know of a man who would know exactly how much Net Zero is costing us.
  27. HS2, yeah scrap that. Net zero, not sure on how much that costs as when I've looked it up it's between 4 billion and 50 billion a year depending on who you believe.
