Behave It's been years since it has caused me grief, probably since I retired, I'm just generally grumpy now.
-
Course it’s a race, first there’s a bang, then everyone starts running.
-
It's an awful place to be, I wouldn't wish it on Dempsey. I've not suffered alot but it seems to come with no warning, no reason to be down yet the whole world just collapses, then it disappears as if it was never there.
-
I think it has become fashionable to be " offended " .
-
Yeah, at the time there is no hope, you can't go forwards, backwards or sideways, you're stuck but you get out the other side and can't see a reason for feeling so down.

The reason you don't see many is they rotted well. Remember see a fabricator / welder repairing cab on one, he said was costing more then truck was worth. Think taxing one was a bit of a grey area, most got away with agri or multi use. Last arb one I saw for sale was taxed agri had turboed perkins engine fitted.

All good here, you'll be sound bud. Try to get out, keep to a routine, don't sit and do nothing, you'll fry yourself for no reason. When this passes you'll look back and ask yourself wtf was that all about. If you ever do find the answer let me know.

I was in my early twenties and already worried in crowded places then. Not to mention Grenfell, some things don't change when there is money to be made.

Just read the wikkipedia, the original design sounds like a masterclass in building a deadly building! Asbestos coated in bitumen, acrylic roof, fire alarm system that was vulnerable to fire, locked fire escapes... Still get warnings about locked and blocked fire escapes 50+ years later
-
Ive hired a st8 twice and both times it went wrong and the hire company had to come out to fix it! id go for schliesing 220mx personally

Same happened in UK or Isle of Man many years ago, a clear plastic roof and blocked fire exits, people killed by melted burning plastic. Resulted in a law change Summerland 1973

Its probably brings and Stratton, rebadged. It won't be kholer engine as they , I believe are still tide in with lombardini... hence kholer diesels

I believe my ex boss, had a rb 4x4 with arial platform on ,slow, noisey, wide, top heavy and crap ...dont know what it was ever meant to be poor man's mog or landrover ?

I can only relate my experience. Ran a TW150 for years, went to an ST8 2016ish, nothing but breakdown after breakdown, went back to TW (230) and have had next to no bother. Things may have changed, they may well have ironed out the issues. Other’s experience may contradict mine.

Seen some videos on the news channels of this, looks like there was no escape, but also how quickly the fire spread surprised me - not the fumes and smoke which is the usual killer but the flames shot across the ceiling. Like a lot of tragedies like this, a combination of factors and failings added together to magnify the problems.

Hi guys. I am currently looking at purchasing a new chipper but unsure on who to go with forst or Timberwolf. I have always used Timberwolf’s however I recently hired a forst st6D and I did like it. What’s everyone’s experience with Först thanks Corey

Exactly . No different to Dave Allen taking the piss out of catholic priests.

Good morning Arbtalkers 😊 What a cracking day it is .....

Nice John. Couldn’t help but chuckle at the supplier name. Flails Direct. Original!

Page on FB matador HQ they seem to have them coming and going all the time and making new cabs. The local matador used to belong to a forester who died at work. The current owner went and retrieved it from the woods and drove it home, purchasing it from the family. The cab was in bad shape when it was purchased but a new ash frame had been purchased but the now owner never managed to locate it.

I didn’t want fixed tooth was my main requirement, other than that it was the right money at a dealer reasonably local to me. Always a bit of a gamble buying 2nd hand flails/mulchers but thankfully all this need was a new set of flails which cost me £400 from flails direct. I payed £4750 plus vat for it which is about a 3rd of the cost of a new one
