all my woodwork so far

Recommended Posts

hi all,

recently i've been doing more in the way of joinery rather than woodturning and thought that i'd plaster my work on here just to get a few opinions as to what people think of it...

plenty of pics will be added in the next few days as i come accros them on my computer.

one other project i've been working on is my college furniture course unit which is made from cedar i purchased from big j in october. cedar is a wonderful timber and greatly under used in my opinion.

here are a few diferent stages of its development.

the curved drawer fronts are the trickiest bit but my compass plane made short work of them.

i also hade to make my own plane to cut the stopped groove in the front of the drawer box to acomodate the drawer bottom.

once the top was on then i made sure the drawers opened and closed easily using that pull chamfer i put on the underside to avoid adding handles. the whole unit was sanded and then finished using three coats of danish oil...
