I have unit 13 and I think this was part of it, felling trees over twice guide bar........So you make your gob cut then bore into the centre of the gob and fan the tip of the bar around to remove the centre wood, then bore into the back of the tree parallel with the hinge, (leaving a little more to compensate for the centre bore) and fan around the back, to fell the tree. You make the point that he is just a suspect, nothing is proven yet. But I suspect most people would not welcome him in the UK. It is great to be a lovely caring society but sometimes you have to say 'No!'. After all, if we get a reputation as being a country that will always protect terror suspects and block them from returning to the country where the crime took place we are pretty much doomed. And there is a second problem of him staying here. Should he be allowed total freedom, in which case that could be putting the lives of many people in the UK at risk (if he is a terrorist that is). Or if we agree he must be supervised or at least kept a careful watch over then what will that cost?

I have already covered this, compliance with a statutory requirement (condemnation by the Council and an order to fell them) is an exemption. It is not necessary also to prove risk. But even if it had to be proven, the legislation merely says "prevention of danger". It could be said to mean immediate danger but it could also just mean 'danger'. It could mean slight danger or serious danger. It could mean danger to property or danger to people. Contrast that with the Scottish legislation which says "necessary for the prevention of immediate danger to persons or to property,". I expect that's what FC wishes it says in England.

From what I’ve seen, if the council has already flagged them as dangerous because of DED or ash dieback, the FC are usually pretty reasonable about getting a felling licence sorted quickly. Anything that’s clearly diseased or a risk to the highway tends to go through faster, especially if you have photos and a short note from whoever inspected them. Four months should be doable, but I’d get the application in straight away because they do get busy. Also worth checking if some of it falls under an exemption due to safety near a road, that can save a bit of time.

There should be a consultation, which will take several months, and if enough people reply the results will take longer to produce. (If it's like the other resent ones they'll ignore most of the replies). So it shouldn't affect renewals for a year or two. The negative news around it will affect the 2nd hand market on shotguns though as even more people give up. I've already got a cheap spare safe for cartridges so ready for the changes.
