  2. Simple setup. 2 bays, one for clean chip, one for logs. No mixed loads or brash please, 24hr CCTV in use. Please be aware this is a horsey farm. There are a few horses (& owners) who get spooked easily, so please be courteous.
  3. Hi all, Does anybody know of someone that removes timber from site.I have a job coming up in Maidstone Kent and will have a large amount of timber that I would like removed, it would require a grabber and will be road access once I have moved it. 3 beech trees, roughly 50-60ft high, stems ranging from about 20-30 inches wide..... Cheers Jake
  4. Hello, I know this is a massive newbie question but as this is the place for people in the know, I thought why not? I am currently using a farmers yard (a friend) to store my chip and logs (and lots of cords) we are starting to reach max capacity for all now. My farmer friend reckons there are at least 2 articulated lorries worth of chip and many many many tonnes of timber. My question is do Biomass plants accept our chip or do we have to go through other means? If they do how do I get in contact with them? Also, who would be the right person to talk to about taking the large cordwood off of our hands? Happy for it to be professionally chipped or for firewood processing. Basically looking for someone who wants to buy either: my woodchip, timber, logs (in large scale happy to sort the delivery) If it helps I am based in Basingstoke in Hampshire. Many Thanks,
  5. Hi Arb talkers! if anyone is in need to clear there yards/sites or have clearance work coming up we would be happy to assist with, further information can be provided via pm or ask for contact details,
  6. Hey, Where can I find some arb by products from virgin wood? Any logs, timber, chip, fines or brash? Thanks
  7. Anyone know of someone with a biomass standard chipper (G30 or G50) available to hire with operator in Cornwall/West Devon? Ideally as far West as possible as I'd need them to chip for about an hour every six weeks (ca. 36 cubic metres at a time), so don't want to be stung for travel costs. Thanks.
  8. The Wood Heat Conference has been put together by wood heating companies for the industry, is dedicated to the UK wood heat sector, with opportunities to learn from the experience of others here at home, and hear from international experts from industry and academia on the state-of-the-art in biomass supply chains and installations in Europe. The conference is aimed at fuel supply chain companies, installers and distributors of boilers and ancillary equipment, consulting engineers and other advisors, as well as those considering major investment in wood heat systems. Hosted at the iconic Great North Museum in Newcastle, the 2014 Wood Heat Conference is a must-attend event, with speakers drawn from industry and government here and abroad. Running on 20th and 21st November, the conference has the theme of Raising Our Standard, with speakers covering subjects including : • DECC’s recent review of installer practices and standards; • Wood heating technology ‘over the horizon’ in Europe; • Effective financing for wood heat projects; • Establishing and operating a biomass fuel supply centre; • The Biomass Suppliers’ List; • District heating design; • Emissions from biomass boilers; • Good practice in heat metering; • Alternative sources of biomass for heat. The conference will include speakers from the Government, the Wood Heat Association and the Renewable Energy Association, meaning those attending will have a better grasp than ever of the opportunities available in the wood heat industry. If you would like to know more, please see the attached flyer and programme, or post a question! WHA Conference Flyer.pdf WHA Conference Programme.pdf
  9. Hi all, I am conducting a research project at De Montfort University together with The National Forest Company and The Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP). We are looking for information and advice on how The National Forest Company can increase the supply of biomass from woodlands within The National Forest. We are looking for people who are involved in woodland management, as we hope that with their experience in this field, they can provide valuable input on the issue of managing woodlands to supply biomass. If you feel that you meet this criterion, I would like to invite you to take part in the following survey which should take no more than a few minutes to complete. The survey starts with an introduction page and a second page with some background information on The National Forest. At the end of the survey you will be asked to provide some basic demographic information about the organisation that you work for. I hope that you will take part in this survey as it will provide valuable data for the project, and the results may help to stimulate the supply of biomass within The National Forest. You help is greatly appreciated. The survey can be found at here. Thanks, Rod

  13. Hi folks, I understand Biomass Equipment Ltd are organising demonstrations this week of the Plaisance Gallotrax 400 at the following locations. I just had an invite to attend the Berkwell, Coventry and Swansea dates but the invite says its ok for anyone interested to come along is very welcome so long as they contact the Biomass sales team and turn up with PPE consisting of hard-hat, hi-viz, safety boots and safety glasses. From what I understand the machine is a track mounted (14t) biomass forestry/scrub harvester.
