Looks like they do the top handle in red, I want! 25ap is 1/4" pitch and 80TXL is speedcut nano. The top is supposed to be 1400w and the others 1600w, so its hardly worth looking at them. Perhaps in future they will do a bigger motor, dual battery 80v version. Also I have seen there is a BAP001G adaptor in Japan, to have the heavy batteries on a waste or shoulder strap and much less weight on the tool. 70 quid off amazon.jp so for now I will stick with the light batteries.

Hard to say from the photo, but you say its dropping 4" branches. The small group that look directly over garage, dont look like they would do any damage, but photos can be decieving.

Is the feed housing bent? Do you have a photo or video showing it?

While tree may be on neighbours land and his repsonsibilty, it does overhang the boundry and you are entiltled to maintain anything on your side, or cut right back, as you see fit. . It may be cheaper and easier than presenting him with a repair bill. Do you have a few photos of the tree ?

My pair of Arbortech BreatheFlex are living up to the name! May get another repair out of them but the outer material is rubbish, rips far too easily.

I use 3/8LP full chisel with a carving bar on the 2511, carving bar more because its smaller, lighter and can get into tighter spaces. I prefer it for pruning work and a normal bar for removals. 3/8lp full chisel is the smoothest cutting I have found for a top handle. Smoothest I mean the nicest cut quality and best for nibbling away at the ends of long skinny branches. With semi chisel on 1/4" I found it can bounce and rip these more than it cuts, the shredded tips look is not good. With a newish chain, long length cutters, it doesnt like plunge cutting - the cutters going to rub with the small nose radius, slow to do anything with the nose, but it does cut. The top and bottom of bar cut beautifully. Once the chain is half worn with a few sharpens it should have no problem with plunge cuts. I was going to try the 2511 bars as I have a spare, on the uc002 but the mounting is too narrow - chain would rub the casing.

I havent understood the purpose of saftry bumpers, as they would always be lower than the rakers and not touching wood...? Powdery chips, as would with high rakers? or does it suck power out of the cut?

I see the harness didnt stop you falling in! Might seem a daft question, why wear a harness on a boat or standing in a stream? Is it just for the convienece of stowing the saw? Or to stop the boat floating away when you jumped out?

A few new items this week. Its not identical, slightly louder but same engine design/character. I may be mistaken but it feels more powerful - but thats likely from the more open exhaust. I like it! Will give it a proper try tomorrow. Dislike - bar nut retaining clips not included, and just standard bar nuts, it uses two of them. Like - the on/off switch is a momentary, auto return to on switch. All saws should be this way. 3/8 full chisel chain as standard! The 12" bar I'll swap to the Makita to test that. I've put the 10" Echo bar and 3/8 full chisel on the Clone 2511 for testing tomorrow. 12" may be too long for this size saw I think, atleast for what I intend to use it. The clone also fired up first pull. Very easy start. Could have used the clone 2511 today, we were clearing two domestic leylandii hedge rows, and I dropped the 2511 twice from being balanced on a stub a few meters up. I didnt have a lanyard or harness on..

Working for council, team leader gave us 5L of mixed petrol to use. I told him it was neat, no colour to it, no oilyness to it on my finger when touching it. Use it, I was told, and being not my problem, we did, took a few days to get through it. I was only on a temp contract anyway. Br800 blower, bg86 blower, pair of stihl long reach hedge cutters, all survived with no known damage. I was quite suprised. Im certain it had no oil in the mix and the others agreed. They used oil out of a drum, no idea what, other than its red. They would refill the oregon measuring bottles with it, thats the only oil they used, and very visibly red.

Used it today, we like it a lot! 4Ah battery dismantled an ash, logged it up and stil lhad 1 bar. Quite a few decent sized cuts to test it out, perhaps 16" dia with the 10" bar. I meant to swap a normal 14" bar to try but didnt have time. The balance of it is good, and it doesnt seem to slow down even when battery is low.

Combi cans are shit, just makes it harder to pour, also the auto spouts are shit ( if you have one fail open, you have a mess) Standard tall petrol can, only fill to 3L and 60ml oil. Any higher and its a pain to pour. Also keeps it fresher. Get two cans if you need more fuel! Oil I like to keep in a reused detergent bottle - HDPE and wont leak, sensible size. Wide mouth for pouring back in. Very easy to pour without spillage. Put the oil bottle in with your maintence bag. Old chainsaw lanyard or accessory/prussik cord on the fuel can for easy carrying.

Near enough the same I think, that compare above says net weight but its with them fitted. I'll have 3 LXT batteries and 6 XGT soon. Looks like they release the UC029 today but nowhere has it listed or prices yet, so I will miss the ebay 20% on that...

I've had quite a few unbranded chains of amazon and ebay that worked out around a pound each, and they were decent enough chains too. Many got abused for root and stump cutting and resharpened well enough. Currently preferring the full chisel chains from Farmertec, although they might not be great on more powerful saws. I suspect the drive links may be soft as I have mashed up a few, the cutters however, are excellent. My 2511, 020T and G372XP are all using their full chisel chains. For the 2511 I had to buy a 50DL and shorten to 40.

I was asked to chop up a lime stump, around 36" DBH. It fell in December. The roots were powder and significantly sized logs weighed nothing. The owners were unaware of its ill health until it fell in a storm. My opinion is to remove.

Idiot question - filled the oil but none seems to be getting to the chain. Turned it up to max, same. Theres a small dribble running onto the plastic casing. For video above I had given up and used the supplied squirty tube. What have I missed?

The burrs would peel off on the first cut, should make no difference. As above, you generally get the burrs on one side only. It would not be difficult to add a reverse switch on the motors, they are just universal DC or SP induction on the better ones.

Have you knocked the kill switch into the off position? Yes I have done this too.

I have not used the decent sharpeners but the cheap ones have terrible slop in the pivot and screws such that no cutter will be the same length. I modified mine to improve it, now does a reasonae.job but its not quicker. Had a problem yesterday, I have some cheap chains and saw, to abuse on low stumps, roots, risky cuts that are likely to damage it. The chains always used to sharpen up well after the abuse using a normal file. Im using good Pferd branded files. The file blunted near instantly, one sharpen per file which was a challenge, went through 3 files. I've never blunted a file before, very odd! I have worn out a good number of chains before this one. I do have some diamond rotary burrs and a mini multi tool, plan to try that and see if the chain can be saved.

Go this today, seems a very good harness however there is one part that is not adjustable, and perhaps I am doing it wrong. It is the stiched connection peice between the waist belt and the leg loops. Pic of the size 1 version, I now have the larger size 2, which is better, but still short. The result is that the leg loops are right up in my crotch, but I might be missing something? What I like is there rope bridge is well thought out, no silly knots protruding to catch on everything.

I'd suggest its not able to compete with the bushes for water and is dying. All of the visible growth is from one stem and none on the other two.

New harness, Camp Tree Access ST. I like it a lot, theres no silly knotted rope bridge for everything to catch on. I got the wrong size, which has tiny leg loops, but Fletcher Stewart are swapping it to the adult size for me. Excellent service from this shop!
