  1. Many hobbies but perhaps the most interesting is bell target shooting. The history is fascinating. It's probably the cheapest form of leisure shooting there is and has it's history firmly rooted in working class pubs and clubs in inner cities. I started the only bell target club in Norfolk during July 2019 with my wife's help despite her never having shot anything in her life. The club was an instant hit and membership steadily rose until covid hit, we even started running a juniors session. We've been back since June of this year and still get between 12 and 16 shooting every week. Check out our website.... https://www.nbbelltarget.club/ Around 2/3rds of us shoot vintage air rifles, these being made prior to 1939 and having open sights. It's a very social club and while safety is our number one priority, banter and mickey taking are very much a part of the evening. I thoroughly recommend it if you have a club nearby. Any questions, feel free to ask.
  2. Very nice, love a fresh mac for breakfast. Dave
  3. Just ordered one, if it looks good, will get a few in for stocking fillers for Xmas.
  4. One area I'm not so impressed by the ego offering if you do consider battery. It works fine, but there is some quite flimsy plastic in it's manufacture and mine leaks chain oil terribly.
  5. Thanks for that, some good info. Sounds like a bit of fun, but I can imagine it being hairy at times. Are you using a sit on? What type of clothing, talking weather not fashion? Cheers
  6. Is that spider?
  7. I'm getting back into it after a break of probably 10 years. Currently fishing Breydon water towards vauxhall Bridge with light tackle and lures for bass. Nice one last week (2lbs) and a return yesterday. Went off a boat about a month ago around Lowestoft, targeting skate and bass. Ended up with a good amount of smooth hound in the freezer. One of my favourite eating fish, but disliked by many. I'm a useless cast both off the beach and with a spinning rod. Could do with some pointers on technique really. This canoe fishing looks good fun, any more info on that greatly appreciated. Sea Palling is only twenty minutes from me.
  8. Just for something different, I recently tried the ego strimmer out on this. I was stunned at how well it performed, and will be getting rid of my petrol versions. This is the multi tool version, I've used all the other tools up to now and have generally been impressed, the brush cutter is superb, the long reach hedge trimmer does what it says on the tin but whilst the pole saw works better than my old petrol job, doesn't feel that robust and I have to empty the chain reservoir after use as it leaks otherwise. It can be used with the battery on board, with a backpack battery or a battery holder on the back. For me the 5ah batteries are ideal on the machine, I find the 10s too heavy, especially with the long reach trimmer and saw. A nice touch from ego is the extension pole which I've found handy a few times.
  9. Came across this in a part of the woods only just explored.
  10. Absolutely don't tell them to mind their own business. Not saying you shouldn't stand your ground, but once you start wrestling a pig in shit, you will find out how much the pig enjoys it. Dave
  11. Love it, are you making period bolts or using modern?

  13. I'm no expert, but I have been bitten by a spider before. It left two puncture marks, nothing like your description of the wound.
  14. Took me a while to process "least unhelpful"!
  15. I misread it the first time. Major back pedal.
  16. I'm sorry, I was replying to different questions on the same thread. I can answer your question directly though: NO
  17. The chain spec is 91PX - 3/8" x 1.3mm
  18. Not really, I've used it for three / four hours without any issues. I bought the backpack thinking it would be, but rarely use it. If cutting upright, I would probably want it, but when logging, you aren't taking the whole weight as a fair portion is supported by what you are cutting. Certainly no heavier than my petrol equivalent. I only use the 5ah batteries with the 14" saw. This has replaced my petrol saws completely, but I wouldn't argue the case for commercial use. Biggest I've done with was 27" (measured) at the trunk. No issues whatsoever. It is incredibly frugal on oil, initially In thought it was faulty but have now got used to the infrequent need to top up.
  19. The Ego 18" does, the clues in the name. How well does an ego 56v chainsaw cut? 20. Hide the porn! I look in all cupboards when I view looking for damp. I've seen a few things.
  21. Mine's a........ Oh fudge, what's my usual?
  22. As kids, we used to take the mick out of dad for his terrible memory and the way he would sometimes refer to the back garden as he was going out the front. Around 45, my memory got so bad, my wife accompanied me to the docs to get it assessed. She accompanied me because I couldn't be relied upon to answer any questions relating to the subject. I completed the assessment with a perfect score. I can still get three quarters of the way through a book or film and then realise I know what's coming. I forget stuff every day, and it's getting worse. There are occasions when people must think me incredibly rude as I forget having met them before, whether they have children, or what type of dog they have. If I had dementia, people would understand. I don't though, just terrible recall. Great thing now though is that my wife is catching up. At least the piss taking has stopped. Not really, she's always had a giggle about it, but never nastily.
  23. Spot on, I got one for tidying up a eucalyptus at home. Thought for forty quid, I could throw it away at the end if it was rubbish. Still going strong and for the money, unbeatable. Their chainsaw is also a useful tool for domestic use. Ideal for a spot of tidying up or sorting brash. I cleared a 30 metre x 4 metre laurel hedge out with mine, no problems. Got through a lot of battery charges but didn't matter. You get roughly the same time working with two batteries as it takes to charge one if not continuously cutting.
  24. Could I collect this Wednesday onwards next week please?
