I know bees release an attack pheromone when they sting which encourages others to sting you. I assume wasps do the same. Best advice when I was keeping bees was to head to the darkest area available to you. Seemed to work for me.

Many hobbies but perhaps the most interesting is bell target shooting. The history is fascinating. It's probably the cheapest form of leisure shooting there is and has it's history firmly rooted in working class pubs and clubs in inner cities. I started the only bell target club in Norfolk during July 2019 with my wife's help despite her never having shot anything in her life. The club was an instant hit and membership steadily rose until covid hit, we even started running a juniors session. We've been back since June of this year and still get between 12 and 16 shooting every week. One area I'm not so impressed by the ego offering if you do consider battery. It works fine, but there is some quite flimsy plastic in it's manufacture and mine leaks chain oil terribly.

I'm getting back into it after a break of probably 10 years. Currently fishing Breydon water towards vauxhall Bridge with light tackle and lures for bass. Nice one last week (2lbs) and a return yesterday. Went off a boat about a month ago around Lowestoft, targeting skate and bass. Ended up with a good amount of smooth hound in the freezer. One of my favourite eating fish, but disliked by many. I'm a useless cast both off the beach and with a spinning rod. Could do with some pointers on technique really. This canoe fishing looks good fun, any more info on that greatly appreciated. Sea Palling is only twenty minutes from me.

Just for something different, I recently tried the ego strimmer out on this. I was stunned at how well it performed, and will be getting rid of my petrol versions. This is the multi tool version, I've used all the other tools up to now and have generally been impressed, the brush cutter is superb, the long reach hedge trimmer does what it says on the tin but whilst the pole saw works better than my old petrol job, doesn't feel that robust and I have to empty the chain reservoir after use as it leaks otherwise. It can be used with the battery on board, with a backpack battery or a battery holder on the back. For me the 5ah batteries are ideal on the machine, I find the 10s too heavy, especially with the long reach trimmer and saw. A nice touch from ego is the extension pole which I've found handy a few times.

Not really, I've used it for three / four hours without any issues. I bought the backpack thinking it would be, but rarely use it. If cutting upright, I would probably want it, but when logging, you aren't taking the whole weight as a fair portion is supported by what you are cutting. Certainly no heavier than my petrol equivalent. I only use the 5ah batteries with the 14" saw. This has replaced my petrol saws completely, but I wouldn't argue the case for commercial use. Biggest I've done with was 27" (measured) at the trunk. No issues whatsoever. It is incredibly frugal on oil, initially In thought it was faulty but have now got used to the infrequent need to top up.
