  1. I was cutting it😅,it’s about meter in diameter.
  2. Did eucalyptus today, everything less than 150 mm ,very snappy, few broke during notching, below 0 last few days.So it’s true.
  3. I would say, Leylandii, cough me many times, unpredictable really, plus minus 2 m3, on expected 6 m3, around that. Dense stuff I count 5 fold.
  4. Just get Fiskars, if you need it for splitting, all others just toys.
  5. It is something in this saw, I am noticed, she is always with me, no issues, after year of use.
  6. Actually by statistics ladders is most dangerous tools, even outperforms circular saw, can't find stats, but it's American healt and safety agencie research, as I can remember.
  7. Full PPE all the time, no matter what, I learnt that hard way, saved me 4 times, I remember all of them, just keep wearing, and it's become habit.
  8. Ye, gladiators of Pfanner, or Samurai of SIP, for work on the ground, but they on heavy side, boots need to be tested in shop, I do not reccomend wellies.
  9. To be honest those trousers are bad for brambles and bushes, for me they didnt last.
  10. Sorry didn't understand meaning 🤣, I always give exact price for the job, if it take longer it is my problem and I think its OK, yes my prices is differ for different customers, and this is OK, old granny get good offer, whealty baron get good work for good money, everyone happy.
  11. Start bare minimum you need to justify work and equipment, as busier you become as bigger prices you try to charge, when you reach max possible, you start loosing jobs, it's time to drop price a bit, and so on, I call it wave economy, first thing you learn in economy course's. I don't reccomend get paid per day, price a vole job, yes u will make some mistakes( after 25 years I do mistakes too its fine, be philosophical) but overall income will increase compared to day charges. That my advice, I give it to few of my friends in other trades, its working.
  12. My Man, same tactics, worked even in hard times.
  13. I used KERB granules, once, after many years I still see result, and I feel good about it, happened only once for me I learnt recognise shit customers, and refused few dodgy jobs during my years.
  14. Well, 261x2,661,400, 193 Stihl 572 husqvarna, 2511and 360 echo, usually 2511,261,572 doing all work.
  15. 20 years, I never grease any needle bearing, never had any problem. Hovever I do replace them once per year, no matter condition, on rarely used Chainsaws once per 2-3 year. If it was my saw, I'd be checking crankshaft if its OK, i check oiler, and replace clutch, drum, rim assembly and probably bar and chain as well, just for sure, YA clean a brake mechanism as well, usually complex methods work well, however they more costly.
  16. I can't believe that, just back from the shop with 2x DMM Swivels 😬, I suppose I shuold return them?
  17. Soon we will have our own radioactive firewood, just saying🔜
  18. 1) No Tee joint with service opening, outside.at the base (critical) 2)insulated pipe inside building wasted money, and visual disgrace (my opinion) 3)No bracket outside at the base ( critical building regulations breach in EU) 4) NO sealant exist with proper fire rating, proper mastic with fire cement base, will never melt (critical) 5) So i think installer is compromised in my opinion, unless all those things was money saving measures ,and customer agree with that (critical) As you can see at the last photo, pipe inside the home already crooked up,think why its happening, also the INSTALLER use low heat rated sealant ,he obviously didnt know that even insulated pipe will become very hot at that distance to the stove. Only noticed that pipes connection direction is wrong (critical) that just crazy.
  19. To my experience, big companies going bust much faster, than any 1 or 2man gang, so dream more.
  20. Dont. Its very strange. Looks like a scam. Face book become a tipping site, we even remove our ad from it, as we never got any real job from it, only some strange people was calling, with some silly things not even worth discussing.
  21. The main thing about simple file sharpening, that it is slightly artistic, real skill, and edge is a better guality. Actually sharpening is very relaxing a bit like meditation, I regularly restoring old woodworking tools, as a hobby.
  22. Good file, and a practice, Can not be beaten.
