  1. Interesting approach. We'll try keeping the tray, but covered with a tarp...
  2. Prefer coffee but if it's offered I'll take it. Complete lottery. You might get a stale biscuit and a thimble of pee water, or homemade soup and cake. I have furtively poured a cup or two away and a nearby dog can be useful. When they ask how do you take it, we ask them to bring it all out and we'll do it ourselves which helps. Anyone else have a rule of taking the empties back as soon as your finished? Introduced that after filling one too many sugar bowls with chipper dust.
  3. So someone is still trapped in the old mineshaft nearby?
  4. Happy Birthday Mr Lateron! Morning all.
  5. Sounds lovely, bracing though! I bet you could make good use of an excellent G.Robe, the ultimate outdoor changing gown. Designed for wild swimmers, surfers, and anyone else who wants to be dry and warm in the outdoors without losing their dignity. Very well made and comfortable with plenty of room for dressing inside them, and so stylish you'd be the talk of the ladies in town! G.ROBE Outdoor Changing Robe Adult - GUARD WWW.GUARDPROTECT.CO.UK G.ROBE Child Outdoor Changing Robe. Specifically engineered to keep you warm, dry and comfortable getting changed... @RobD is offering them at a great price through the link above and there was an arbtalk members discount which may still be available.
  6. Good morning everyone. Was the cake for you Stephen? A happy birthday!? @topchippyles a fry up sounds like a capital idea, I'll go with that my good man.
  7. It applies to most of society's behaviour. The credit score culture desperate to portray an image.
  8. Found a video of the turbine blade convoy passing through Hawick. Bit long but around 12mins it shows the blade being lowered for the straight after a roundabout, and the tip tickling a lampost! Might be of interest to some. @Mark Bolam same place as the pic you found. And another showing the jackets passing through.
  9. Well disappointingly I missed black friday, just checked my emails though and luckily a lot of places have carried their unbelievable deals over to today, purely so that I don't miss out on the fantastic offers available. I'm blessed.
  10. Morning all. Same as everyone else weather wise. No plans yet, we'll see what the day brings. Good day to you all.
  11. They are a cousin of the Border and in my experience exactly the same temperament. Working dog breed so need more excercise than most are able to give, and intelligent so need more mental engagement than most are able to give. A lack of leadership at home will lead a breed like this to make its own decisions, some of which will be seen as bad from a human viewpoint. Some members might remember Santi that I posted about regularly in the dogs thread until not long ago. He was one I fostered in middle age due to similar issues, stalking the families young children and looking to get into the collie's favourite position of behind people ready to strike with visitors, they felt he couldn't be trusted. For me he was a great dog and I ended up adopting him myself. Well balanced and intelligent, he learned quickly and once the rules were understood was keen to please me. The only ongoing behavioural issue was tall men in dark clothing, you could see in his demeanour he didn't trust them and would look to get in a position to strike first, chimney sweep and one of my mates in particular but if I took control of the situation he'd chill. Interestingly, the man of the house he came from was a tall guy who seemed impatient around the dog to me. I wouldn't hesitate to have another, so many good points, best Arbdog I've had!
  12. I imagine Silver and Bob's day seem a bit brighter now, being reminded they don't have a series 3 land rover...
  13. Can only imagine where the sawdust ends up
  14. Selkirk wind turbine vandalism costs run to £20,000 WWW.BBC.COM Police say vandals damaged about 20 tyres on a transporter vehicle in the Scottish Borders.
  15. They must've got their tyres fixed Mark. They were delayed moving from the first layover near Selkirk because someone had slashed multiple tyres on the truck/trailer. I took a lot of stick on the road job in prep for this but people are going mad about the delays now!
  16. How dare you, I'm an adult who can eat breakfast young man
  17. Wondered if it would give enough gains to save me getting my handsaw ported mate
  18. I can see why. I wasn't either when I was stopped with the quad. But when the fourth copper apologised after my rant and explained why (there'd been a shift change and they'd all just started with a bollocking about plant theft) I thought fair enough. You could ask the reason at your local nick but whether they add to what you were already told.
  19. Practicing this, with a raised eyebrow and pursed lip. We are passionate about, and committed to, keeping our clients children safe.
  20. Had a few incidents with Police but ultimately I always end up thinking it hasn't really inconvenienced me and if the boot was on the other foot I'd be glad. Got a new Ifor once and was pulling out mates paddock at night after splitting logs in a shed, was pulled over and it took a while to prove to them, if I'd lost the trailer I'd have been so chuffed the culprits were stopped like that. Said the same to a copper once, late at night coming home from a farm with the quad on a trailer. I was stopped 4 times in less than an hour because "no-one tows a quad at the witching hour". The last one was very apologetic but I thought I'd rather spend ten minutes to account for myself if it keeps my stuff safe.
