  2. I don't think overloading would cause this but maybe been laid back on the drum loosely, got twisted and the subsequent wraps on top squished it? It doesn't sound like you'll be able to 'fix' it but you might improve things. For me it's good practice to regularly unspool the cable fully, inspect, and spool it back on the drum under slight tension. Preferred method for me (with tractor mounted winch) would be unspool fully, attach hook to something ideally incorporating a swivel, then let the winch pull the free wheeling tractor to the anchor to keep it under tension. Another thought is, I would always keep a wrap and a half or two wraps on the winch drum for security, if your damage is on the first 50cm it sounds like it gets fully unwound so if you spool it back in loose it's likely to twist up. Even holding it in your hand will help lay it back on neatly. In your situation I'd unspool fully, respool with tension making sure it was neat, then not unspool the damaged half meter in future.

  6. It doesn't work. As some may remember I identified as a wee bus one Friday morning in a ranger towing a digger, but I still had to pay the bus lane fine.

  8. Not a bad day here too courtesy of hiab, valtra and heizo.
  9. @Steve Bullman Sorry me again, morning. Not sure if it's a glitch or user error but the other day I tried to leave a review on a listing in the freelancer register but it still shows no reviews, and I don't see the option to 'leave review' any more. If it's relevant I try to link to the listing I get this...
  10. Morning all. Feels mild here, been too warm all night. Got a hiab coming for the day to finish (hopefully) the last few Leylandii on the endless connie job. Should be a good day and we'll be glad to see it finally finished. Have a good one folks.

  14. Working on rectal strength actually. If I can strengthen that enough to physically obstruct entry whist unconscious then they'll be buggered, not me.

  16. Morning all. Hope the screening goes well maybe. 7c here, bit drizzly and the wind gusting. Got physio this morning, thankfully! Been counting the days to this one. Have a good one folks.
  17. Excellent to work with, very skilled, knowledgeable and reliable.
  18. The 9 there that didn't comply with the thumb up directive haven't been seen since though, except orange helmet who appears weekly on the news from a concrete room to say he's being looked after very well and chooses not to contact his mother.
  19. Quick, tell the Catholic church, they can have someone dancing permanently and the devil would be so busy there'd be no more ill in the world!
  20. Saw a clip, probably the news, the two poor beasts looking hopefully into the light of the headtorches. Edit. Not the clip I remember but similar, poor wee things! Watch the moment two lynx are captured in the Highlands WWW.BBC.CO.UK Footage has shown the efforts to successfully capture two lynx illegally released in the Highlands.
  21. I'm sure you used to write Ramsay's lines in kitchen nightmares peds. Ever said "nooo, jeeesuuuus, that's wetter that a 4 month olds diaper" by any chance.
  22. Not disagreeing with the sentiment Dave, when I saw the clip of them being recaptured they were like a couple of shit scared little kittens, looking towards the headtorches hoping to be saved, but I'd be interested to know why one died. Exposure, eaten something bad, shock? They didn't look to be injured.
  23. Morning all. Only -1 this morning but feeling colder with the fog. Got woodwork to paint today to finish off the bathroom, better visit the cafe first though, haven't seen those wonderful ladies for a whole week! Have a good one folks.
