  3. I'm not generally a religious chap, but when you're down there at the lowest ebb, feeling like it's just too much to struggle on, wondering how you'll ever take another step forward, it's some feeling when you look up and see the hand of god literally on your shoulder giving you the sense you're not alone and things just got really easy... Ok, it's the hand of Tom, but beggars can't be choosers! Anyway, I was so grateful for the timely intervention from a higher power than I, I went to my place of worship at lunchtime and paid tribute. Praise be. VID-20250212-WA0008.mp4

Welcome jammo, better a member than a lurker!
  12. Fenton just identifies as a shepherd. Wait til I explain to Sailor that he's a born shepherd and sticks are for retrievers.

  14. Done it plenty. I'm a bit surprised the rspb don't get all stressy about compliance, paperwork etc though
  15. Think it's a version of 'give and take' TM works. Give us 10 mins and we'll take it off the road.

  18. Morning all. Another good day yesterday. Larch wasn't straightforward so a bit of thinking required but it came over nicely. Doing a small reduction today as a homer. Have a good one folks. MOV_1154.mp4
  19. I swear Alex has hacked your computer to send that!
  20. That reminds me of a question I had to answer to be an arbtalk member or something. What fuel goes in a chainsaw? Took me a few attempts, got it in the end though!
  21. Another thing I think is overlooked most of the time is how an individual reacts to a situation. There are cracking climbers who I'm completely convinced would get to me quickly anywhere in a tree, but so squeamish they'd be little use. Of all the talk I've heard on the subject, and the times I've had that chat with someone, "got rescue ticket", "there's the rescue kit", "designated rescuer", I've never known anyone say if the rescuer is capable psychologically. Bit like someone having the first aid+F ticket and first aid kit, it's no guarantee of urgent medical care being given proficiently.
